Legally, you cannot get into trouble. Morally, your parents are trying to look out for your well being. If you are living with them, you should respect their home. They are not doing it to make you mad. They love you and want you safe. It is going to be hard enough to see you go off to college, so until then, respect them and love them. You will regret it if there is friction between you.

If you were my child I'd tell you "my house, my rules." That is a parent to child thing because even though you are an adult, parents still worry about their kids. If this does not suit you then move out.

Also are they the ones paying for your college? If they are, then it sounds like you'll be under their thumb for a while. Because as a "legal adult" they have no requirement to pay for your college.

But in a legal standpoint, they have no hold requiring you to be home, etc at a certain time because you are an adult. If your probation has a curfew then you have to abide by it. Or you will be in violation. If no such rule is in place then you have no problems.

If your parents were to call the police because you did not return I would hope the police would set them straight on the facts. Hopefully they would tell the police the truth about you and not make a huge issue and lie about things trying to get you into trouble.

You may want to just suck it up until you are out on your own.

I never really had anything worth doing on week nights besides work, but 9 was when my parents usually went to bed because of their jobs, so that was when they liked to lock up the house. It's pretty reasonable, but I would think if you had something out of the ordinary you wanted to do every once in a while, an exception to the rule wouldn't be too much to ask for with your good grades and responsibility. As far as weekends mine was 12, though if I called and said I was going to be an hour late every now and then they were fine with it. Parents are worriers and really sleep better when they know their kids are home safe, that might be why your mom is being strict.

Oh come on... Can't you just behave like the rest of us and act like an adult and do what you're told for once? It's morons like you that give all teenagers a bad rep. Treat people how you want to be treated, show you are responsible and then your folks will give you more choices in matters such as these.

And I can't believe that if you are 18 and a guest in their house, that you'd do something to make them mad. They can throw you out or have you removed by the police.

The "curfew" in this case is a kind of house rule. Your parents would have no reason to call the police and, if they did, the police would not do anything. Whether or not you abide by this or any other house rule is between you and you parents. It is more about respect than anything else.

DO WHAT YOUR PARENTS TELL YOU!!! If you had been doing this all along then you wouldn't be on probation, supervised or not. If you're not going to abide by your parents rules, then go support yourself and pay for your own schooling and food, and all that. If you want to act like you're grown and don't need your parents, then do it. Go get a house, a car, and a job and support yourself. You're not as "grown" as you think you are!

You're 18. You can stay out all night, drink, smoke and have all the sex you want. You know what I would do? I'd move away from those stupid controling parents of yours and get your own place if I were you. Show those fossils who's the boss. Tell them to take their stupid rules and shove em where the sun don't shine. Move out and show em who's the boss.
In no time at all you'll be a millionaire and that'll show em!.

Legally, you are now a guest in their house - you can live there as long as they choose to let you. They cannot legally enforce a curfew on you, but you also have no legal recourse if you come home, find the locks have been changed and your possessions on the front lawn.

legal age in Texas to be considered an adult is "18"...legal to do what you want when you want...but if you are still living with mom and dad then all that is out the window...SURE, you can stay out all night after they told you to be home by 12am, but you can also expect to find your suitcase on the front step when you get home...suck it up or pack it up..!! good luck

If you are still living under their roof and they are paying your way then you have to obey their rules. I don't know what the laws are in Texas but they can lock you out of the house and have no ill effects from it in other states.
