The truck has new york plate and the guy says it's his daughter's. What do I need to ask for? The asking price is 15-20% lower than blue book and he says title is clear. Sounds a little too good to be true. The guy will call me back with the vin # today. Besides running the vin # what else can I do to ensure I am not buying something not legal or what ever. I live in maryland so I guess I need to get a state inspection after I buy it?

have it inspected BEFORE you buy it, not after. And make sure he has the title in his hand.

Not if you are satisfied with the truck's condition, and you both can go to DMV and get the title transferred, and get the truck registered.

just bring someone with you to check the car out that knows what they are doing. or you can make an appointment with a garage that is local to where you are buying it...just make the appointment yourself ..

Lauren - it is admirable which you do no longer prefer to "harm somebody's lifestyles," yet they needless to say did no longer have an analogous admire for you. it is as much as you, yet i could document the motor vehicle stolen. you have the identify, suitable? you have the felony suitable to the motor vehicle.
