I think it's a great challenge to convert from one religion to another, so please tell me what made you make this choice and what are the obstacles, if any, that you faced?

This question is only for Muslims, so "zellparis" and "steven" have some dignity and don't intrude.

thank you Ahmed but I am already a Muslim "thanks to Allah Almighty".
The aim of my question is to hear the stories of those who were not born Muslims but had to convert to Islam during their life. I am just curious to know THEIR STORIES.

I am a scheduled caste Engineer working in a Government Company in India since 1957. Scheduled caste means low caste in Hinduism which is the main religion of India. I have been promoted to Senior Manager quickly and I had all Upper Caste Engineers working with me. I had faced lot of discrimination which has created a permenant deep wound in my mind. I started hating Hinduism which preaches Caste system. I started reading major religions of the world. then eventually a muslim boy who studied with my daughter came forward to marry her. I was surprised to see how this muslim boy can accept us? The only condition he put forward is that my daughter should become muslim. Then I started reading the Quran and the Prophet's teachings. Then I became muslim. I didnot face any obstacle except myself to accept the truth initially. I had to go deep into the true Islam to finally accept it. But no one will become muslim if they see them as of today in any part of the world.

Dear Dalzz,
I am a Muslim. My religion is Islam. My Mazhab is Shafie. I am from Malaysia.
Hear this Verse from Al-Ku-ran. I'll tell your more later. I'm not going to say anythings about Islam. This verse call Al-Fatihah. Verses (Ummul Kitab) Head of Al-Ku'ran. This is no story. These are truth. The Choice is when you read and understand every words in this Verse. There are 6666 Verse in the Al-Ku'ran. Al-Kuran are not Written by Men. It's direct from God to Mohammad through "Gabriel" (Malaikat).
In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, The Most Merciful.
All praise is for God.
Lord of all Creation
The Compassionate, The Merciful.
Master of the day of Judgment.
You Alone we Worship and You Alone We be seek for help
Guide Us to the Straight Path
The Path of Whom you have Favored.
Not of those Who have incurred your Displeasure or of
Those Who gone As try.
To convert to Islam!. There's no obstacles of any kind and nothing to face.
True to this words, recited Shahadah;
Just say these words; in two witness
"I bear witness that there is no god save Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah."

I had some muslim friends who told me that everybody that isn't a muslim will go to Hell once they die and Hell is for eternity so I decided to convert to Islam, so I'm sure to avoid Hell when I die. I think it's very risky NOT to convert to Islam; people should think about it cause eternity in Hell is very long!

I agree it is not bad to convert ones religion, but why the conversion always bowls down to islam or christianity? There are other faiths as well. You should never be biased.

True conversion is not from Law to Law.
Such folly would be as from Loser to Loser.
True conversion is from Law to Grace;
As from law glory to grace glory: 2Cor3;
As from blind faith to seeing faith: Heb 11;
As from Mt Sinai to Mt Sion: Hebrews 12,
through the valley of the shadow of death.
Pst: sevenfold Mt Sinai = "not come"... Law;
And sevenfold Mt Sion = "are come"... Grace.
Mt Sinai? Pst: Mt Sinai "in Arabia": Galatians 4.
JC said God said, to Peter(only man called Satan):
When(not if) thou art converted(from law to grace),
then strengthen(grace) thy (scatter-brained) brethren.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
