If the lump is where you describe, I doubt that it is a pilonidal cyst. Those are more likely to be lower down. You may have a fatty tumor. Most of these are benign. You may have a neurofibroma, again usually not a big deal except that it can grow if not excised. Any family history?
You may have a tiny meningocele or a mylomeningocele, an out-pouching of the spinal cord coverings without or with the nerves in it. (The spinal cord itself doesn't go down that far, but the coverings or meninges do.) This is fairly rare.
In children, this may be a marker for what is called a tethered cord syndrome. I doubt that this is the case at your age. It could be associated with leg weakness and bladder incontinence.
To my eye, your leg pain is a cause for concern. Instead of worrying about this, why don't you see a doctor? He or she can either re-assure you or direct you toward corrective action.

It sound like an abscess or boil. More then likely its a small abscess. I get them from time to time. Apply a warm compress under there and have her hold it in place. Repeat every 3-4 hours. It will help with the soreness and if it is a boil it will aid in draining the fluid out. I seriously doubt it is an injury of any sorts. Since you are taking her to the MD tomorrow there isn't much more you can do. A lot of times these things happen under the armpits from shaving with cheap razors and sometimes an ingrown hair causes a slight infection. On the serious side, it could be a lymph node. Good Luck

Hi
I will recommend you to see a neurologist as soon as possible. it could be just an Hernia, or a mass of grease.
I got two in my belly and in the right under arm, I went to a neurologist and they found out that they are consequences (second effects) of medications I use.
when you get to the doc, tell him all the symptoms you feel in that area, not only that hurts when you stand up. also if is sense to the touch. they will send you to some test and that way you Can have a clear answer and know what it is. don't think in bad illness, that could get you into a depression state that do not make you any good. don't think it could be cancer, or maybe some kind of death threatening illness or mass. mines are nocive even when they hurt when I sit down. or touch it with a finger. so go to a neurologist and ask all your questions and doubts, he better than no one can answer your question.

I did answer this question, and like I said, ignore the pitiful ignorant fools that gave you the answers you received. In the other place you put this question, other people are answering in a much smarter fashion. It is hard being a Mom, but, don't let those others who answered so foolishly and in an assinine matter bring you down. They are merely wanting 2 points and think they are cute and funny- NOT! I've tried these sites- Maybe they will help you. Good luck, and take care, MOM!

If the pain runs down your buttocks It can be a disc problem. Most likely it it a pilonidal cyst and sinus which requires sugery. Not pleasant find a colon rectal surgeon who is the expert not a general surglion

Could be a pilonidal cyst. See a general surgeon. A lot of people get these removed.

based on your description, my best guess is it's a lipoma, a benign fatty tumor- they can basically occur anywhere in your body. they tend not to hurt. a pilonidal cyst is definitely possible, but those tend to be painful (for you to have one for 3 years without much pain is unlikely), and your description that it "feels like jelly" doesn't quite fit a pilonidal cyst. the pain in your legs may be totally unrelated, but it is possible that you have a meningomyelocele causing nerve root compression.
