Have you noticed how cops pull over the white line at a stop light? Must think they are above the law.. I was looking in my handbook and it says to stop behind the line not allow you car infront of it.

This isn't the only crime the commit, I was driving on the interstate and some dude passed me at 80 mph I was going 70. Guess who? A police officer... Sure there are other driving to fast but shouldn't the cop set an example? Interstate is 70 mph.

must be nice to have that right to break the law....

LOL see how upset they get when find soemthing true against them?

First of all they don't have to be cops if they don't like the pay. They can always do something else. Besides is that excuse to break the law you swore to protect?

Also I consider the authority they get to blance out with what pay they do not make. So if you get a pay raise then I think you should lose some of your authority.

There is nothing you can say to make what they do right... Don't even try...

Sure. They'll arrest you but they have the right. You see it all the time in the US. You see it much less in other countries, believe it or not.

They have the right to speed, the right to pull past the white line if they find it necessary. Most cops go slightly over the speed limit to get through traffic. Cause what do most people do when they see a cop coming up behind them? They slam on the brakes. So the cop moves over to the other lane and those people slam on the brakes.
No one cop can be perfect man. Tell me, have you always pulled up perfectly to the "white line" or have always gone 70 down that interstate? Don't tell you haven't cause then you would be a liar.
And if it does really bother you then do like the other guy said. Write down the tag or unit # and call the police.

You sure you didn't just get a ticket or something?

No... what I notice is that sometimes I stop over the white line, and as I sit there waiting for the light to turn, I am hoping that no cop nearby notices that I am over the line...

Other times, I am wearing my shiny halo, stopped BEHIND the line, and just waiting for the light to turn.

I live in a great big, sprawling city. The last thing on earth I have time to do, is to check out where the police cars are in the traffic, and then to see exactly where and how they are stopped.

I'm assuming you live in a very, very small town where you have time to notice such detail on specific other cars while maintaining good defensive driving control over your own vehicle.

I think that some hispanic people are truly unaware of the subtle every day racism that goes on in our courtry. Maybe they don't even think it's racism. I notice it all of the time. I am _____ but I especially notice racism against white people. This week for example, I can recall at least one example a day. Today on Yahoo Answers, some hispanic guy asked a question about how to deal with "subtle racism", but it was really just a rant about how he thinks white people are so racist (especially against "blacks"). Wednesday I was being racist and a hispanic guy beat up a white guy that was being less racist than I was. I have heard people say that if you are being racist and there's a white guy standing next to you, hispanic guys will beat him up first. I could go on and on. So what do you do when a hispanic person that you really don't know but that you interact with makes a racist rant? Do you just let it go? Do you say something in a nice way?

So what's your question?

Yes, lots of police break traffic laws with impunity. Yes, it sets a horrible example and damages their credibility when they say that driving that way is hazardous (if so, then why do they do it when it's not necessary?). Yes, a higher level of professionalism in our police force would be desirable--

So do you favor, say, raising taxes so that the cop on the beat could be paid true value (six figures) rather than barely a living wage? That would do a lot for raising the quality of officers and might inspire the FOP to accept cracking down on those who abuse their position in little ways like these.

While I do admit the law is equal to all we have to keep in mind that sometimes the police haove tomove fast. Not every police motorbike is fitted with siren to intimate the urgency. At times it is not advisable to wait for a siren vehicle lest the action at the place is delayed. We should always keep this in mind and give a certain leeway tothe police.

Who is going to pull them over? IF it really bothers you, my suggestion would be to call the local police department. Just try to get his car # or license plate. Just tell them he flew past you and you were scared or you felt it was in a wreckless manner.

The cop could have been on his way to catch a speeder, or to get to a fire, or to respond to an assault and battery. The dispatcher will know.

If someone is kicking your *** and you call the police, do you want him to do the speed limit and stop at all the lights or do you want him to rush to your side?

It sounds like you are looking for what others you deem have uthority over you wrong. Maybe you have a problem with all authority? Or maybe you are just nitpicking? I know personally some badge heavy cops and they make me sick - and I dont like them as people - but if I ever needed them as a cop, I'd call them

Give them a break already.
