I was on an online dating site when a Russian woman contacted me. That's how I found out about the mail bride thing. I have done some research on several web sites about mail bride scam. I read that if she contacted you first is more than likely that she is a scammer, it's that true?

Russian MAil brides are always a scam, no matter who contacts who first. If ou actually get to th point where they come over here your bank account will be spent in total and then she will leave once her status allows her to stay in this country. All they want is to get their foot in the door of this country, believe me they dont want you. Keep looking for a girl in our country, she is out there waiting for you.

99% of these mail order bride dating sites are complete scams. They will be sugary sweet to you, but as soon as they take your money and get their citizenship, they'll leave you. I'm not saying Russian women are like this, but the ones on these dating sites are. I heard the worse dating sites for scamming men were the ones from Russia, Ukraine, etc. If you want to date a Russian woman, find one that already lives and works legally in the US....that way you know she doesn't need you for a green card. Dateline just did a story about a nigerian scam where they contact people and say they are a women looking to marry an american etc etc, and then they scam you into paying for medical bills or shipping stolen goods. They even sned a picture of a hot girl that is not real.
It's definitely a scam!

My advice? Find a girlfriend in your own country. Seriously. It costs a small fortune to marry someone from overseas. You have to meet them in person first (yes, the US government requires that), plus you have to go thru all the paperwork and stuff to get a fiance visa.
My advice is to forget you were ever contacted. Just step away from your computer and get busy IRL. Take a class, learn a new hobby, join a gym. Become active in local church and civic organizations. Make new friends. Eventually, one of those friends will become a girlfriend. Or one of those friends will introduce you to a girlfriend.
It's a whole lot easier and a whole lot less expensive. Good luck to you.

date someone here. because most likely after you fall in love with the mail order bride and marry them they will just leave u. they just want there citizenship and will do anything to get it. So find a girl here and you will be much happier. best of luck and just forget about the mail order brides.

I am 100% sure that 99% russian females who do this are scamming you! Are you from USA? They are after your money and a passport out of their country. Trust me, without going into details, don't be fooled just by the way they look with their model portfolio pictures and all that crap. You don't go on 'lucky lovers' by any chance? Its up to you......... but take my advice unless you want to end up penniless and heartbroken and then alone......don't do it!!!!!

Watch the movie "Birthday Girl" with Nicole Kidman, for an eyeopening look. She wants money and to come to the US. many times, these women are frontwomen for their criminally minded relatives.
