A lot of things would be so much easyer to understand if some people would just say what they have to say, without giving a 10 parahraphes of quotes from the bible. Not all questions here are adressed only to christians (i rarely saw any other quotes) and they are not all about christianity. Is it really so hard to make a difference between the word "christian" and "religious" ? I mean no disrespect but it's really annoying

If i would want quotes from the bible, i'd search the bible myself (yes, i do have a bible at home). It dosent make a lot of sense, if i ask a question here it is because i want to know what people THINK - in their own words

Technically speaking; each person could answer that assertion differently. As for 'quotes' ; I have also seen them on here from the quran.
Suggestion; distinguish between the Bible and scripture (scripture is inspired by God 2 Tim. 3:16-17, the Bible is not).. That difference is partly responsible for the division in Christianity presently worldwide. May Peace Be Witrh You.

I admit you do have a point however there are non believers who will not accept the words of a believer and that may be one of the reasons why people use scripture but your point about not understanding the verse is a real possibility also and this may be another reason someone would use bible verses to convey their message. Because the bible isn't like a lot of books that have been written when one person reads a passage it might say something different to that person than it does to the next person who reads it. It's like going to church and listing to the preacher's message believing everything he/she saying is aimed directly at you.

If it is a religious question then seeing that christian beliefs are based on the bible the answer quite rightly should be a scriptural quote.
Christian wisdom should come from the bible , not man made ideas.
Why would this bother you ? do you not have a bible to look up the scriptures or does it not allow you to argue ?
You are always welcome to ignore quoted scriptures

What i think is what i quote.
Good to see you have a bible.
God bless

Larisa I would like to be able to pull scripture from my mind like that then I could talk about so many different things that I have found in the Bible, and so much amazing to.The earth , the heavens, all living things, history, the future. Fruits of the spirit , and who God shall rescue from this evil that manifests itself on this earth .

You can get annoyed as much as you like, dear. The reason you're getting a lot of biblical quotes and Christian philosophy is because you're posting your questions in "Religion and Spiritualtiy". What did you expect the answers to contain? Spaghetti Western quotes? My gosh!

The reason we quote scripture so often is because God said it best - - and because we are directed to inscribe the Word on our hearts. It's what comes to mind. It is our lifestyle.

No, tha Bible says it better than anyone else, that's why people quote it.

Honestly, there are alot of Christians here, I'm one of them. We're not going to just not answer in a Christ like manner just because the person asking the question isn't necesarily looking for a Christian to answer. We LIVE our beliefs, and so it's going to come out alot. So don't be suprised to see alot of people on here who just can't "shut up" about Jesus.

He is our life, and we're here to tell the world.

I oftentimes use scriptural quotation to bring in further understanding to what I am trying to say. Sometimes it is because the wording in the Bible is exactly how I would have put it and I don't want to plagerize.

Perhaps that is because 80% of Americans profess the Christian faith. Based on that, 80% of the answers will be Christian.
How can you get annoyed at someone else's answer? You can ask any question you want, and people can give any answer they want. If I ask a Hindu a question, should I be suprised that his answer is based on his Hindu outlook?

We don't try to represent ourselves. We try to represent our God. We are of the Kingdom of God. Ambassadors represent their kingdom and their King. I mean no disrespect either, but it is the King the Lord Jesus that matters. I do not matter, but the Lord does. It is all about my Lord, the Creator of the earth.
