I think the Trinity is a factor, because the Qu'ran says that thinking God needed "helpers" (the Holy Spirit and Jesus) is blasphemy. They also believe that the Crucifixion and Resurrection was staged, to give the appearance that Jesus rose, and that Jesus is just one of many Prophets, while Christians believe he is the WAY to God, and God Himself. So basically all of those things represent the basis of Christianity.
Many differences.

They do accept Christianity as people of the book, just misguided in their teachings. The major issue is Jesus as the son of God.

Now lets talk about the Pope, The Knights Templar and the Crusades. Many hundreds of years ago the Eastern part of the world invaded the holy land and in doing so killed many Islamic people in the name of Jesus Christ. So they have good reason not to accept Christianity. Christians have this ideology of forgiveness and that's a power full gift but Muslims remember things for hundreds of years and feel people must atone and be punished before forgiveness. Now again we are there in their part of the world, not as before, but it is very difficult to overcome many hundreds of years of mistrust. I do not advocate violence by any means and neither does any reasonable person of any religion but violence begets violence and it goes on and on and on a never ending cycle of hate and mistrust. How to stop it well I don't have a clue. I think the beginning is within the United States. If we can somehow prove to the world that Christians, Hebrews, and Muslims can live together peacefully then then maybe and not in our lifetime we can do this on a world wide basis. It will take more then this world now has to do this, but maybe we can start and well before we destroy ourselves maybe we can get it done..

Because their Religion teaches them that they are the only correct religion and that they are commanded to convert at all costs.

for instance, in Islam, if you convert to Christianity, it is completely appropriate for the family or friends to kill the convert to save them from their error. There is a protocol to this, and the convert must be given the opportunity to come back voluntarily, but if they don't it's actually a laudable action on the part of the executioner!

I'm gonna get nasty notes from this one, but it's historically accurate, and is still practiced in many areas where Islam is practiced.

Moderate Muslims who don't openly endorse this are derided by those who do.

Because Muslims believe in pure monotheism while most Christians believe in logically contrived disguise of polytheism involving God, the demigod offspring Jesus, and the Holy spirit goddess also known to the ancients a Sophia or wisdom. Christianity also rejects the prophet Mohamed.

I don't believe in Christianity because I can't understand the concept of trinity. Isn't that promoting polytheism?

Secondly God is divine and does not have any descendants. I believe that Jesus was a prophet not the son of God.

Third, I believe that people are born with out sin, but are prone to make mistakes. That is against what Christianity teaches, that all people are born sinners. That would be just unfair of "God" to say every one is sinful even before they are born.

Muslims took many of the beliefs of Judaism and Christianity, and omitted the problem beliefs. The one big omission is the trinity. Christianity is stuck with it. It can't be explained sensibly. It can't be understood. It's impossible.
Preachers have been trying for centuries to come up with an explanation using leaves and eggs, instead of people. After all the trinity is people, not eggs.
The church says three persons. What are persons ? The plural of person is people, not persons.

"Accept?" You mean be tolerant of? Or accept as a new belief system?

I would recommend you do some research on Islam. I would recommend the (American)PBS series "Empire of Faith" and the Dr. Michael Sells book "Approaching the Q'uran."

These make excellent departure points for learning more about Islam.

The Qu'ran mentions that they (and Jews) can't be trusted. But the real reason might be that the largest percieved christian nation in the world invaded 2 muslim nations in the past few years.
