In manic phase people don't have sense of social appropriateness, so things that you might think about but know to keep to yourself get said.

On top of that, mania and sexual preoccupation go hand and hand.

When both of these things are going on at the same time (obsession with sex and disinhibition, which means you talk about it and act on it all the time) you can see where the problem is.

My boyfriend is Bipolar and he hasn't been sexually active for 6 years now. It could be from all the medications he's on. I love him anyway. So I guess this sexual thing works both ways. I have another Bipolar friend who lives for sex. That's all he thinks about and he has several girlfriends. He doesn't take medication. Maybe that's the difference, I don't really know.

Sexual preoccupation and loss of inhibition can be a feature of manic episodes.

I work in mental health and I have seen some bipolar women who are pretty horny too.

That would be a sign of hypomania or mania. Properly medicated, it's not a problem *unless* it's due to something besides bipolar.

I thought that was with all men regardless of bi-polar or not.
