No hope in the afterlife ? Do you actually believe that praying for the impossible will make it come true ?
Anything supernatural is simply stupid superstition. What you see is what you get. There is no supernaturals.
All living things here on earth have the same destiny. We come, we reproduce, we die. The end of the story.
Putting all wishing, imagination, religion, and superstition aside, what do you have left ? Answer - - we come, we reproduce, we die. The end of the story.
Think deeply about the church story. Where is this "soul" that the church talks about ? What evidence is there of it ? How does it travel the zillions of miles to "heaven" ? How does it inflate into a full sized human being ? And best of all, whatever the answer, how do you know, where's a tiny crap of evidence ?
Nature makes sense. Religious teaching is wishful superstition.

No I believe there is no after life. When you are dead then you are dead. It isn't a hope kind of thing. What hope is there in an afterlife? Really think about it. Let us pretend one exists. If it is at all like this world, it will be a terrible place. Why would you want to go into that?

Well one thing you have to realize is that not everyone agrees with or understands other people's beliefs.
I don't believe in god. I believe in being a good person and doing for others without expecting any rewards in an after life. I don't believe in heaven or an after life. That doesn't mean that I do bad things because I am not expecting the consequences of hell. It means that I am making the most of my life now, while I am here. I have respect for other's and their beliefs and I expect the same respect back. I don't hate any religion.

There are atheists who believe in an afterlife. Many Buddhists are considered atheists. It simply means, "Without a Deity".
Then again, dominionist Christians consider anyone not exactly like them to be atheists....

I also can accept that to believe in a deity is illogical for some.
I just cannot grasp the belief in no afterlife. I KNOW I have a soul and it will live on and on and on.
I don't see it as no "hope", as you call it. They just believe that we get this one life and we should make it the best we can.

Atheism is the position that affirms the nonexistence of Gods or rejects theism. When defined more broadly, atheism is the absence of belief in deities. They don't believe in anything. But death nothing after

There are varying degrees of atheists. Some reject all spirituality and some just don't believe in god/gods. I'm a very spiritual atheist.

It seesm strange to me that people would live their life with the hope of living on after they die. I live my life for now, for tomorrow and for the future, not for some crazy notion of life eternal in the clouds!
Who wants to live forever anyway?? Wouldn't your idea of heaven get a bit stale after a while?
An atheist

NO gods. That's what atheism MEANS. (a- + theos = without gods)
I didn't have a pre-life before I was born. Why would I need an afterlife after I'm dead?

I've expirienced for myself, that we are spiritual beings having a physical existence. I don't denounce the existence of God, rather I say that I have not personally experienced or seen him.
