I've heard of a sandbar shark, they have teeth, however. Sandbars look like dusky sharks, another one with teeth. Thresher sharks have no teeth just nubs.

The only bar sharks I've heard of are the two-legged kind. Some of them don't have all their teeth.

In my area we have sharks called sandbar sharks, actually atlantic sharpnose sharks, and they MAX OUT at a humble 4 feet. Most are smaller. They look just like a miniature shark. They are harmless unless you are handling them on the hook. Though they will not bother you, they are not toothless by any means. Here's your pic along with further details: http://www.outdooralabama.com/fishing/saltwater/regulations/Shark-ID/atlantic-sharpnose-shark.cfm

Here is a good close-up of a toothless bar shark.
