I sympathise with you entirely. I think that most christians and their churches have completely lost track of the important first principle of Christianity, which is that God loves his creation and all of his people. Somehow they have turned it upside down into a religion of hatred.

Best to stay at home or go out with a friend - you don't want to be contaminated with hate theories....

Many homosexuals hold to the belief that they were born that way, and there are some researchers who suggest, on the basis of several recent studies, that there may be a genetic predisposition toward homosexuality in some people. However, even those who argue this believe that certain environmental factors would also have to be present for the condition to develop. In any case, other scientists have challenged these studies, and there is presently no generally accepted scientific evidence that the homosexual inclination is inborn. Also, in a broken world, the discovery of a genetic link would not prove that such a condition was God's intent.

It must be emphasized that even if a biological predisposition to homosexuality in some people exists, it would not change God's opposition to the behavior. Neither would it change the fact that through the transforming power of Jesus Christ freedom from sinful behavior is always available. In addition, many strugglers discover growing heterosexual attractions as they address underlying problems with the help of competent Christian support and counseling.

A recent book which discusses genetics and homosexuality is "Homosexuality and the Politics of Truth" by Dr. Jeffrey Satinover. For a practical guide to overcoming homosexuality, the book "Coming out of Homosexuality" by Bob Davies and Lori Rentzel would be helpful. These books would be available through most Christian bookstores or by contacting Regeneration Books, P. O. Box 9830, Baltimore, Maryland 21284-9830, telephone: (410) 661-4337. Exodus International North America—P. O. Box 540119, Orlando, Florida, 32854, telephone: (888) 264-0877—provides information about homosexuality and Christian ministries which help those impacted by homosexuality.

Ok, God does say that gay people are wrong, but if the repent and believe in Christ then they will go to heaven. Also, you are a little stereo-typing about no boyfriends, no TV, no make up, no piercing, because i am a christian and same with my family and i am aloud to do this stuff and so is a lot of other people in my church. My sister and my mom's best friends' have more then 8 piercing each. So don't you get no idea about christians not a loud to do anything cause its not true.

The Church today has decided that there are some "big-ticket sins" worse than others (ala homosexuality, abortion, pornography).

And yet a careful and spirit-filled reading of God's word would indicate He made no such distinction.

If homosexuality is a sin, it is no better or worse than lying or gossip or gluttony or pride or any other sin.

Christians need to be admonished to remember we are all sinners and all of us fall short of God's glory and we all need a Savior to reconcile back to God. It is like high-jumping to the moon as Max Lucado would say. Some Christians may be jumping up three feet off the ground, and some only three inches. But the ones jumping three feet are really no closer to the moon.

I am gay and I am happy. I was raised to believe in god,the bible and the thought that being gay was unacceptable. But I do not accept the bible and I am not sure if I believe in god. I do not feel condemned either. I know that there are alot of haters and many of them are christian, but that's their problem. God also tells them not to hate and that we are all sinners. To me, that just cancels out religion all together. The bible says what is right and wrong and then it says that you will be forgiven for all of your sins. Another hypocrisy is that the christian faith will give absolution to a murderer, a child molester, or a drug dealer but they will not tolerate homosexuality. Gay priests have been kicked out of the catholic church for being openly gay. I say it is all rubbish and many people would want to kill me for saying it, but as I said, that is their problem. be yourself,be a good to your family and friends and screw the rest of them.

If you believe in God then you have to believe in Nature. Most gay people are not so by choice and have no control over it.If it's kind of natural with them, then all God believers should accept it as will of the God.If religions like Christianity have to survive and flourish, they have to modify and change with social progression or be left behind. As of now,I find that the largest percentage of people who are questioning their religion are Christians, and rightly so.Religious leadership is not only lagging behind but also failing to provide them with the right kind of answers. We can't expect Holy Bible to provide answers of this century 's problems and questions. No body should and same applies to all the religions and faiths.

Although some Christian denominations(including the Catholic Church) believe that the homosexual lifestyle is a sin the Catholic Church still believes that those individuals have hope of eternal life. Here is an excerpt of a paper that Pope John Paul II wrote before he died:

The universality of salvation means that it is granted not only to those who explicitly believe in Christ and have entered the Church. Since salvation is OFFERED TO ALL, it must be made concretely available to all. But it is clear that today, as in the past, many people do not have an opportunity to come to know or accept the gospel revelation or to enter the Church. The social and cultural conditions in which they live do not permit this, and frequently they have been brought up in other religious traditions. For such people salvation in Christ is accessible by virtue of a grace which, while having a mysterious relationship to the Church, does not make them formally part of the Church but enlightens them in a way which is accommodated to their spiritual and material situation. This grace comes from Christ; it is the result of his Sacrifice and is communicated by the Holy Spirit. It enables each person to attain salvation through his or her free cooperation. For this reason the Council, after affirming the centrality of the Paschal Mystery, went on to declare that "this applies not only to Christians but to all people of good will in whose hearts grace is secretly at work. Since Christ died for everyone, and since the ultimate calling of each of us comes from God and is therefore a universal one, we are obliged to hold that the Holy Spirit offers everyone the possibility of sharing in this Paschal Mystery in a manner known to God."(19)

I hope this was helpful
God Bless

The Bible is very clear about God not liking homosexuality. However, Christians are called upon to minister His word with love, not be judgmental. But a Christian is not always being judgmental when telling you that gay is wrong. We are also called upon to let you know when you are breaking God's word. It is called being discerning. But there is a fine line between being discerning and being judgmental and we have to be careful not to cross that line. Telling you that you will go to hell is being judgmental and only God can make that call. We have many gays in my church and though we try to turn them around, we sometimes fail to do so. They are still welcome.

I don't understand either. If they think that being gay is a sin then that is up to them, that's their right. But I think that they should accept people for what they are and lighten up a little. I'm sure that if there is a God that he loves gay people just as much as everyone else. Not only that, they should mind their own buisness. It's not physically hurting them, it's not affecting them in any way, shape, or form.

But one thing that you have to remember is that not all Christians are this way.

You don't have to agree with your church's full doctrine Or so I have been told. My response to that was "oh yes I do." So, I have no church. I am a Christan and all I really make sure I do
""Is the next right thing"' If I find a church that can teach all of my true feeling and values and morals. I will gladly go.
If I have to be alone with God when I pray He won't mind
