erm, i've been looking into making a homemade switcher for these types of plugs, or possibly a multi port, or just an adapter, does anyone have a pinout for conversions between these, especially the ones concerning one of them and the vga cable? i'm trying to use my monitor as a tv, but dont feel like buying a vga to svid or color port or composite cable when I could just make one. I do know basic electronics and can solder proficently, so you dont have to dumb down your answers. Mainly, I need to know how to converte the red, green and blue pins in the vga to a composite feed, or to the odd wires in s-video(havn't worked with those yet, but my system switcher supports em). any help is appreciated.

VGA bus is more than just R/G/B colors, there is also timing info, which does not exist in composite/s-video.

Plus composite/s-video is Luma/Chroma but VGA is R, G, B, so the conversion requires some minimal processing to go from one color space to another.

PC monitors expect a specific color-space from their VGA inputs (sRGB). TV signals use either NTSC or Rec. 709, so the colors will be off.

It will be easier to get a TV tuner for your PC and make your PC a "TV"

The pink, blue, and green inputs are for all resolutions of HD. HDMI and DVI are only different mediums of recieving the sign. HDMI and DVI declare to be clearer inputs, yet i've got discovered the DVI provides extra of a grey tone to each thing, and the HDMI isn't as sparkling. i could carry on with the RGB element inputs.
