In my mind, they would seek the Lord with all their heart, know what they believe and know exactly why they believe it, and love others, showing them kindness and respect.

My meaning is in their demeanor. And I'm just specifically talking about Christianity. I'm not purposely trying to put down another religion by being specific.

a real christian does not just claim to be one. Sticking feathers on yourself does not make you a bird. What I mean is someone who truly is a follower of Christ in every part of their life.

I'm not meaning outer appearances...I know it has nothing to do with that. This is more of a question to find out what others think. I know what a real christian is supposed to look like in their heart.

Your additional information hits it right on the head. Most Christians, I would guess, love the Lord with all their heart and soul and mind.

However, the "love your neighbor as yourself" part is lost on many, especially the ones who want to rant on here to non-Christians. God shows us unconditional love AND unconditional respect, and God expects us to show that same love AND respect to everyone else. We often forget the respect part.

This one can be hard to answer. There are many who claim to be a Christian, go to worship on Sunday, do some good deeds but who won't necessarily enter Heaven because "they didn't do the will of the Father" (Matthew 7:13-23). I don't think anyone can look at someone and rightly say this or that person is a Christian and this or that person is not a Christian.

The requirements for someone being a Christian are:
1 Hear the Word (Romans 10:14)
2 Believe/Have faith (Hebrews 11:6)
3 Repent of sin (and keep repenting, specifically if you messed up again) (Acts 17:30)
4 Confess Jesus Christ is the Son of God (Acts 8:36-38)
5 Get baptized (immersed-under the water symbolizing Jesus' death and rising again to your new life as a Christian symbolizing His resurrection) (Acts 2:37-39, Romans 6:1-14, 1 Peter 3:21)
6 Live your new life as a Christian without falling away (1 Peter 2:9-12, Galatians 5:22-26, Acts 2:42-47, Acts 4:32-37, Hebrews 10:19-39).

Ultimately, only those who have become and remained Christians according to Scripture (what God says) will enter into Heaven in the end, but no one can't always make a call on who is a Christian and who isn't as we don't see people's hearts.

I would have to say that the best answer is found in the Bible. A real Christian is known by the way he lives his life. By the people he influences for Christ and an even better example is, What is a Christian's grand children like in their life. Jesus Said ; "By their fruits all men shall know that ye are my disciples" He also said in Matthew; "I am the vine and ye are the branches, he that abides in me and I in him the same shall bare much fruit." So when you look for a Christian, and you want to know what he looks like? That's easy, the evidence is not in the roots, but look at the tree.

A real Christian can look like anything. There are no physical characteristics. A real Christian will treat you the way he/she wants to be treated. A real Christian is kind and helpful. However, a real Christian speaks the truth in love. He/she won't necessarily let you walk all over him or abuse you.
A real Christian is serene most of the time and does not let stuff get to him/her.

A ral Christian is happy!

Can't tell by looks . No , most don't go around with a happy happy joy joy look on their face . Neither did Jesus , or His disciples . They were serious , and so are most Christians at least part of the time . They have work to do . They have family members and friends that need them . They need to sow a lot of seed , time grows short , and they will have to answer for the ones they could have helped and didn't . However Christians are joyous when they praise the Lord .

It all depends upon how old they were, in Christ that is. On the outside they could look like a respectable businessman or a homeless bum on the street. If they were new to Christ they might not seem much different from anyone else, having their share of "issues" and "baggage" and besetting sins. As they grow in their faith and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit progresses in their lives they should be looking a little more like Jesus each year.

Romans 8:29 For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

Hebrews 8:10 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Yisra'el. After those days," says the Lord; "I will put my laws into their mind, I will also write them on their heart. I will be to them a God, and they will be to me a people. 11 They will not teach every man his fellow citizen, and every man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for all will know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.

2 Peter 1:2 May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.

A real Christian strives to live a holy life, and follow the commands of Jesus Christ. A real Christian emphasizes works of mercy and avoids idle discussions of dogma and theology.

Christ did not have the Bible canon, neither did his disciples. Why should Christians spend most of their time arguing about the product of men loyal to the Emperor?

The physical appearance would be secondary, if at all.
The main thing would be the personnality.
Colossians 3:9,10 tells us to strip off the old personnality and put on the new.
The new personnality involves compassion, humility, mildness and long-suffering.
Galation 5:22, 23 adds to the list.
So, someone exercising those qualities would appear to be Christian.

I know it sounds funny, but Donny Osmond is the best Christian I know of. I know he's a Mormon, which has sometimes got a bad reputation, but he doesn't take himself seriously, apparently treats everyone kindly, and has very white teeth.
I think the ideal Christian shouldn't preach, but listen.

A real Christian is not who they say they are but who they are when no one is looking. It's what you do, not what you say you do. Preach always. Sometimes use words. God looks on the heart, not on our flesh.
