I agree. Most people that have answered this question show how little they understand the middle east. That is the best was to discourage terrorism. In reference to the Hiroshima answer, ask yourself what ends a war quicker the to realize that the war will be so costly that you cant win. If we turned a section of the desert into glass every time they got out of line the Muslims would make an effort to stop the terrorist themselves. These people only respect strength and force. They have been at war for thousands of years. It is what they know. I hate to quote a movie but look at the movie 300. Even when a country was facing anniliation by the Persians, the forefathers of the middle east for the record, some people did not want to go to war. You will always have cowards like these in our society. It is a good thing that we still have people brave enough to stand up, join the military, and fight. If we left it to people like the ones who answered this question we would be speaking Japanese or German right now.

No because not every Muslim in the world would be involved with the attacks. Try to find the terrorists who set the bombs off and take them out. If you destroy Mecca you can be sure that every single Muslim in the entire world would be seeking ways to destroy the United States and it would be WW III. Bad idea.

Tsugamoto, what makes you think that the fundamentalist Muslims, you know, the ones who want to kill all of us, will stop attacking us if we did bomb their holy sites? If we did that we would be playing directly into their hands because then they would have an even greater excuse for jihad. I mean, some Muslims are still upset over losing their empire and being kicked out of Spain! And that was used as a reason why the bombings took place in Spain. I know enough about the Middle East from my studies and because my grandfather lived over there for a number of years.

WOW! Taking down Mecca is like calling for a D-Day Hiroshima combo against us but on twice the scale.

If a giant bear cub bites you don't hit giant mama bear. Fighting with guns and bombs is for terrorists. Fighting with words and legislation is true politics, and good diplomacy.

Do you want to be a terrorist or a diplomat?

NO, we should find and destroy the people responsible. WE are not terrorists, terrorists destroy innocent people. Mecca is full of people that have no clue about any of the political turnings of the World.

THAT is how you fight these terrorist. They take out a building, we take out a relic...They hijack one of our planes, we start killing high preists...They get a real bomb into the US, we start taking out holy citys, like Mecca.

THATS how we get them to cooperate.

But like everybodys stated, youll have every Muslim up your @ss, but not like thats anything new.
