Who mentioned the God protects the Pope any further than you or me? this thought isn't Church coaching. Matthew 4:5-7 states: Then the devil took him to the holy city, and made him stand on the parapet of the temple, and mentioned to him, "once you are the Son of God, throw your self down. For that's written: 'he will command his angels concerning you and 'with their palms they can assist you, lest you sprint your foot against a stone.'" Jesus replied him, "back that's written, 'You shall no longer placed the Lord, your God, to the attempt.'" there are countless loopy human beings available so the Pope likewise makes use of his God-given effortless experience and would not placed God to the attempt. yet another theory: If the Pope discourages an assassination attempt or maybe stops an murderer from murdering him then the Pope might help keep the murderer's soul. With love in Christ.

God didn't protect Jesus, did he? Or any of the disciples? Why should the Pope be any different. He is JUST a man, isn't he?

It's not a sin to pray for anyone's safety.

May be the Pope has not read the Psalms 91 & 121. God is our protection. Think about Paul or Peter. They didn't use any protection means on their bodies, even though they went through tough circumstances. They rejoiced when they were persecuted.
Jesus also said that these persecution will happen and God will be with us during these times. Then Why we should be afraid. Whom shall I fear, when God is my light and my salvation.
We need not pray for him that God should protect him. But we should pray that his eyes should open. He is blind and makes many others also blind.

Matthew 4:5-7 states:

Then the devil took him to the holy city, and made him stand on the parapet of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written: 'He will command his angels concerning you and 'with their hands they will support you, lest you dash your foot against a stone.'"

Jesus answered him, "Again it is written, 'You shall not put the Lord, your God, to the test.'"

There are a lot of crazy people out there so the Pope likewise uses his God-given common sense and does not put God to the test.

It is never a sin to pray for the good of another person.

With love in Christ.

The last Pope wasn't too bullet proof. Before he was shot, he went around in an open car.

because there have been past assasination attempts. also, the pope is not supernaturally protected, he's just a man, flesh and bones, and depending on which faith you come from you hold those beliefs, i'm not a catholic so, no, i don't think he's special, vatican politics are built on power, that's it, not power given by God,
lastly, why would it be a sin a to pray for him?????

Maybe you are not old enough to remember that Pope John Paul II was shot and nearly killed in 1981.

Why do police officers and soldiers in Iraq wear bullet-proof armor?

Because people have tried to assassinate him before and rather than deal with him bleeding on the way to the hospital for surgery they decided to just protect him better then they had been before he was shot.
