Running tones the muscles in your rear end. The actual loss of size is related to more than just running. You can walk up stairs and do bench step ups to help improve the shape also. To get to the shape and size you wish to be depends on how long you exercise each day, how many days you train and how much you want to lose. Just start a program and see your progress after a few weeks. It is not going to happen over night.

Running has a slimming effect on the whole body. If your butt is the first to gain weight, then it's possible it is also the first place to lose from, but there are no guarantees.

Change your lifestyle and do this forever. Drink lots of water, walk, run, or swim an hour every day except 1 then do stretching and upper body toning. Eat fruits & vegetables.

No alcohol
no burgers
No pasta
No pizza

Good Luck

Try squats too! Good for toning. Without Weights then try with weights. Try to get free membership at gym, then have them show you then quit gym, before fee is due.
