Could you give more info as to why it's hard to imagine why someone would think it's okay?
Have you been to one? What went on that was so bad?
Or, are you just going by what you've heard? My kids have gone and enjoyed themselves. When they were younger, they looked forward to it every year.

So what do you think they do at Bible camp? The only difference between that and any other kind of camp is that there is a short morning worship service, a prayer before lunch at noon, and a worship service in the evening, usually involving singing. During the day the kids do all the "normal stuff" like swimming, horseback riding, volleyball, and whatever the camp can afford. Since kids usually WANT to go to camp in the summer, why would you think it is NOT ok to have Bible camp? If the child is being raised in a Christian home, it is only natural to send them to a Christian summer camp. Find something else to worry about.

Your question is somewhat vague because although the Bible is believed to be inspired (God-Breathed) and inerrant (without error), most Christians have a different understanding or interpretation of what the Bible says on specific subjects. So, if you want your child to learn about the Bible in general then Bible camp could be OK. But if you do not wish your child to learn what you would consider false interpretations, then maybe you should consider what denomination (or line of thought) this camp is teaching.

One of my bad memories. I think it was in Sodom and Gomorrah. Chapel in the morning was soon forgotten when the kids ran loose improperly supervised to get into more memorable and more regrettable diversions the rest of the day, wiping out any good from the morning. I actually enjoyed the laudable sentiments, but not the rest at all. Of course I didn't know the word laudable then, but I knew disgusting already. I think sometimes atheists have more morals at that age, sad to say.

I went to Bible Camp as a child as it was very good. I bonded with the kids from church and learned a lot and had fun. It was absolutely nothing like Jesus Camp.

It's like a week long Sunday school class combined with the activities of summer camp. It's a good way to bond with other young people who are of the same faith, or same church.

They are taught not to think. Bible camp is much like the schools of the Hitler Jugend. You learn to blindly and without questioning to follow a book and the words of an self-chosen authority.
It is turning people into slavery, taking away their freedom of choice, which is against the constitution of most countries.

erm I am a muslim, but raised in USA, I went to bible camp with my christian cousins while young in USA.. It really wasnt much different from any other summer camp.. We swam, made crafts, sang songs.. etc.. It was just a good moral gathering for youth to keep us busy during the summer..

Bible camps are very fake my mother used to make me go to them you spend a whole week around nothing but extreme Christians go to chapel 3 times each day.everyone put on a show for bible camp but when it's over they go back to their usual self. you can have a closer walk with God without going to Bible camp. you don't need to go put on a show for one week out of your summer. stay home and pray each day be yourself and don't allow extreemist to influince you. God all ready Loves you.

Anything that brings our children closer to the full knowledge of our Lord and Savior is always a good thing!
