you can't!!!

coughing is caused when the bronchial tubes get inflamed and irritated and the bodies natural response is to cough.

also the body needs to rid the lungs of pleghm and so you cough!

you can buy a cough suppressant but they don't work it's the bodies natural way. the only thing you can do is take something like honey to sooth the pipes!!!

It depends on what is causing the cough. Sometimes I will cough until my face is red and I am unable to swallow, making me choke somewhat on my own saliva. This is a classic allergy attack for me. Help comes from moving out of the area I'm in. Chalk dust used to get me in school, but you rarely find chalkboards in classrooms these days. If I'm in a really dusty place it can happen. If moving out of the room doesn't help, I drink water and wash my hands, then take Benadryl, an antihistamine. It works fastest for me.

Below is a link to a ton of ideas to help stop your cough if it's from a cold or allergies. You can decide which you'd like to try. My favorite way to stop a cough when I have a cold is Delsym cough syrup, but the link below will show you natural as well as "medical" ways. Everyone has their favorite remedy. See which way on the site appeals to you and try it. Usually you know yourself best, so you'd know what would likely work for you better than anyone else.

Good luck!

Take a cough drop, honeysuckle is really good (if you can find any). Drink lots of water. If that doesn't work, go to the doctor.
