People what is the story between Matthew 6:25-34? Jesus BASICALLY says "Don't worry about what you're going to eat, God will help you out."

But if you look at the world today there is a huge amount of people and unfortunately kids dying daily from lack of food, shelter and other resources. How do you reconcile that verse with the reality of what is happening in the world?

I don't know what the evangelical fundamentalists will say, but the Catholic Church says that a human being's first obligation is to love and serve God. That which God deems necessary to your doing that will then be given unto you.

Remember, to God the whole point of this life is NOT how wealthy you are, how healthy you are or how long you can stave off entropy. It's how you conduct yourself in whatever conditions and how much you lean on the Lord to help you through them and how trustingly you allow Him to sweat the details. You're here to learn how to be there, with Him.

You have to put that into context and not just quote. When he said that he does not mean no need to work for you to have food. Remember that Man was punished by YHWH for sinning and he have to till the soil for his food (meaning he has to work for it). Second, when He said that He was addressing believers or His followers, and they should have faith that YHWH will always provide them YHWH Yireh. Now if we take a look at the children that you are saying, most of them are from the African continent, and most of their religion is Islam. Try to do some research and study the religions. As you can see most Christian/Jewish countries are rich countries and plenty of food, however, countries with Islam religion, most of them are poor. In the middle east countries, they only suvive because of their oil, without their oil, they will also hunger because their land is a dry desert. Today they benefited well from Christian/Jews countries. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wPglHZQf-0&mode=related&search=

Well first of all Jesus is telling us not to worry...but we do. We do store up for ourselves. If all of us truly lived as God intended us to there would be no starving or lack of shelter. But it goes deeper then the obvious.

The promise is:

Verse 33: But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

God intended us (before sin) to live in perfection. We would never worry about anything, each of us would love our neighbors so there would be no stealing, no murder, no jealousy, no lying etc...all these things (sin) have caused the state of humanity.

Seek first the Kingdom...if we turn to God as a nation, he will do as he says. But we have to exercise the freedom he gave us and choose him first.

Jesus says that if you seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness then things like food and clothing will be provided for the believer. That's what is known as a conditional promise.

You're misinterpreting. It means that worry is pointless, you can't do anything if all you do is worry. Also, he may not be talking about actual food here, but spiritual food. You can't take verses out of context like that. You have to use the entire passage, and think of it in terms of the rest of the Bible as well.

either you are making me look dumb to you or you are too materialistic. this is the Earth man. God is not from this world. so when he says don't you worry about eating, it means he is the savior in the other life (if you do believe in it because if you don't you can't get the satisfaction in my answer)

Is their not enough food in the world for everyone? If their are people starving it suits political agendas. Man is keeping these people starving, God has provided enough food for all.
