Personally, I don't like them. They remind me of hospital food. But my husband LOVES them. He can scarf down an entire Hungry Man dinner for LUNCH. And still be hungry for more!

I have a preconceived notion that TV dinners are a lot of fat and starch and the rag-tag ends of meat (what often goes into hotdogs and chicken nuggets), so I never felt like buying them regularly. I tried a few for lunch (just pop it in the lounge-room microwave), just for fun. It was some Austrian brand (I forget), so I can't really compare it to others, but one was that salisbury-steak-mashed-potato thing. I think the potatoes were too finely pureed, but the taste was okay. The other one I tried was some Asian rice-and-chicken thing (same brand), which I didn't like. Rice was too dry.
Frozen veggies I find okay. I have a horror of canned peas. They are only good for pea soup, in my opinion. I love the frozen peas.
I don't like boullion cubes much, but somehow came to like OXO/Bovril-type ones. And even the occasional smudge of Vegemite.

I love the occasional tv dinner. I have to admit the mac and cheese was my favorite. I do like the salisbury steak too. I prefer instant coffee because I can't be bothered half the time to brew some, but I love this new product I found, which is an instant latte, and it is by Nestle. It is great!

I used to eat them nonstop at college until i educated myself a little..
you realise they are full of salt, often artificial preservatives, flavourings. Even bizarre colourings. I remember looking at an ingredient list about 30 items in length for a little meal and wondering what all the other stuff was for?
they use the cheapest and oldest meat and produce that is practically dog food and they dont give a toss if you get cancer, heart disease, obesity later in life. they just want your money!
its very cynical but true, i rarely ever buy them. they are chemically manipulated to taste good thats is why ur like "yummmm!"

the tv dinner started life as good food fast , and the early [second generation] ones weren't bad at all .this soon changed and not for the better. however with rapid thaw microwaves and quick make recipe kits and automatic dish washers the whole point of a tv dinner is moot.

I hate the meat in TV dinners- Salisbury steak, meatloaf, etc. It's always chewy and fatty, as if they use the cheapest meat.

I quite like them, particularly Bangers & Mash, but they are too bl**dy expensive, when you look at what you are actually getting.
From the size of them they are only an appertizer.
