When most of the time, its just the morals and the principles or the belief that people truely follow! OK, maybe moses didn't part a sea with his bare hands, and maybe he didn't call nine plagues on the Pharoah, but thats really besides the point isn't it? The bible gives each and every one of us a guideline to live by, Don't murder, Don't steal, Don't commit adultry. I think the bible gives each and every one of us a lesson to be learned.

And for some people, religion is their hope, their life string. Every day people with severe illnesses and drug addictions fight with maybe some hope that someone up there has there back. It gives them hope.

So Athiest, and other religion bashers, don't blame a few crazed fanatics who use religion as an excuse for war and killing, and we all know its impossible to part seas. Just remember that religion has done a lot of good to a lot of people.

It's a lame crutch to stand on and prone to get people to persecute others (if you claim the "one truth" everyone else must be wrong) and it has to go. This is not the bronze age.

"a few crazed fanatics"?
Did you really study history? Are you sure?

Because Christianity was turned into a Religion. Jesus himself said he did NOT liek religion. So senseless rules and traditions are not accepted by God and Jesus etc.

The Words of Jesus
Luke 11:45-46, in The Message Bible says, "One of the religion scholars spoke up: 'Teacher, do you realize that in saying these things you're insulting us?' He said, 'Yes, and I can be even more explicit. You're hopeless, you religion scholars! You load people down with rules and regulations, nearly breaking their backs, but never lift even a finger to help.'"

Jesus said it so well in John 5:39-44, "You have your heads in your Bibles constantly because you think you'll find eternal life there. But you miss the forest for the trees. These Scriptures are all about me! And here I am, standing right before you, and you aren't willing to receive from me the life you say you want. 'I'm not interested in crowd approval. And do you know why? Because I know you and your crowds. I know that love, especially God's love, is not on your working agenda. I came with the authority of my Father, and you either dismiss me or avoid me. If another came, acting self-important, you would welcome him with open arms. How do you expect to get anywhere with God when you spend all your time jockeying for position with each other, ranking your rivals and ignoring God?

Phoenix Wright is correct, statistics have shown such correlations. We study them a lot as psychology students. The problem with the Bible is that it causes a displacement of responsibility. The Bible as a book on ethics is horribly out-of-date. Also, pushing your religious dogma on your children has proven to result in some rather mild but negative effects. Children take in and question everything, it can be a very hard time for them, harder than you might believe, so introducing something as contradictory as the Bible can be... problematic to say the least.

Qunatum Physics might say parting of seas is possible. They are always finding new forces in the atom and we hardly know everything yet. For sure it would have to follow some laws as everything seems to be orderly, we just don't know all the orders yet.

Because most of todays religions were BASHED into people. People were murdered in the name of the cross. Cultures were destroyed in the name of the cross. Power was established in Rome in the name of the cross.

It was all done by force, by murder, by genocide, by propaganda, and by Christians.

Bashng religion has one a lot of good to a lot of people too. Just imagine...we'd all still think the sun revolved around the earth if it weren' for dissenters moving us forwad from the childish view of the universe religion offers.

It's nothing but false hope because it's a fairy tale.

Yeah and some of the other lessons the bible teaches us is to how to beat our slaves, how to properly stone our disrespectful children, and not eat crawfish or pork.

Religion kills millions of innocent people. I don't care about the twisted morals, it needs to end.

Atheists have a lower divorce, homicide, teen pregnancy, and general jailing rate than religious people. Religion also has a negative correlation to IQ. I don't understand how religion helps people, since the statistics show quite the opposite.

The 'morals' and 'principles' are the problem.

And we know more about religion, all religion, than the vast majority of believers. We understand its motivations all too well.
