it depends on speed you're losing blood and some other factors, but if you're not treated for it around 30% of blood loss can lead to irreversible shock...so,without substitutes/transfusion not too much...watch out what you're doing ;)

20% loss of blood volume - a mild concussion loss of 35% - a major shock loss of 45% - a very heavy shock 50% loss - death blood volume represents 7% of body weight. So a person weighing 50 kg has about 4 liters of blood. for such a person: loss of 800 ml - a mild concussion loss of 1400 ml - severe shock Loss - 1800 ml - a very heavy shock loss of 2000 ml - death

The average adult has eight pints of blood in their bodies. We all know that when we donate blood, they take one pint, and that's safe. It's also quite a lot of blood, too. I think you'd be ok to lose two pints of blood, maybe three, but I'm not sure.

i would say about 2 pints (about 0.9 litres) would be the about the maximum you could loose without having major side effects...

if an adult looses 4 or more litres of blood then you can almost be certain that they will die...

I lost 5 pints of blood during childbirth, while already in the hospital-or they gave me five pints for replacement-I was really dizzy. They were giving me these blood transfusions before the baby was even 10 minutes old though.I do not get dizzy at the sight of blood or when giving blood to the red cross. Also women who are rh- have their entire blood replaced while giving birth, they suck it all<< out and replace it with another type during the baby's birth.Anytime you lose even 1/4 cup of blood I would go to a doctor or hospital for a bag of blood, that's what blood donors are for-just to be on the safe side.
