Don't tell me ... let me guess! Noah had a copy with him on the big boat!
Has anybody tried to copyright it? (That would be the limit of cheek, wouldn't it?) lol

But Johnny! What about all the stuff that happened BEFORE the flood? Nobody was around to remember it, right? Did Noah bring along a scribe and sheepskin to write on too? Sorta like a "captain's log?"

Well... the Bible wouldn't have existed at the time of the flood ;] Several of the early books are believed to have been written by Moses, who lived after the flood.
The Bible like what we have today wouldn't have come about until the 5th century A.D. The scripture had existed before, but the 5th century is when the Vulgate (early Latin Bible of the Catholic church) was put together.

Noah was a man of business. As such, he habitually kept two sets of books, one for the collecting of money and rents, and the other to show the government tax collectors.
Yet we just have but one version of the Bible, so one must have fallen overboard in the flood. Wonder which one? Writing of the time was on clay tablet, so it could be re-discovered at a future time...

The record of the flood and the rest of Genesis was not written until the time of Moses, as others have pointed out. Earliest man kept history through story telling. They would pass these stories down from generation to generation. Strange as it seems they didn't have TV or a radio to listen to at night so they would entertain and record history at the same time by passing them on to their children. The bible says that all scripture was given by the inspiration of God. If that is true, which it is, then God basically told Moses and the other authors of the Bible what to write.

The Bible was written after the flood. It is possible that Noah might have had some notes on the events before the flood that were incorporated into Genesis.

Much of the recorded material happened well after the flood.
The first five books were written by Moses, many years after the flood.
Before you try and put those who believe in the bible down, get your facts right or you will appear to have egg all over your face.
