It depends on the brand. It ranges from 300-500, generally speaking. That's why golfers prefer certain brands of golf balls over the other. The amount of air drag on the dimples can add or subtract 10 or more feet to a person's stroke.

First, they are dimples. I went to Wikipedia and found this: "Most golf balls on sale today have about 300 - 450 dimples. There were a few balls having over 500 dimples before."
