I take Concerta (time-released Ritalin) for ADHD and my "friends" are always wanting some. They say it gets you high but I've been taking it for awhile and have never noticed this effect. All it does is calm me down and help me focus. Why would anyone want to get high off of an ADHD drug?

I put friends in parenthesis because I don't consider them my friends, just people I associate with.

Ritalin is a stimulant that produces pharmacological effects similar to those of cocaine and amphetamines and it is prescribed to treat (ADHD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, ADD and other conditions.

In time release and the proper dosage you do not have that side effect of feeling drugged. They will want to overdose and enough could kill them are cause brain damage (stroke) or worse.
Never let them near your meds.
You might save a life.

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYMORE.

All prescription drugs are given to you specifically, it may be a certain type that you won't get high off of. But unfortunately, your friends could get in some serious trouble by taking it. If they are injured (or worse) you are to blame.

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY. If they say get mad and stop talking to you, they were never your friends to begin with.

Nope, they're not your friends, they're just junkies trying to get a free high off of you. It doesn't get you high because you have ADHD so it does the opposite of what it does for people who don't. For everyone else, it is a stimulant, speed-like.
