air force you start at E-2.. but with a college degree you are automatically eligible to be an officer O-1.. but better advise: connections dont help in the military... no one gives a crap who you are or who you know. if you want to join the military loose that mentality. fast. luckily im a spouse so i just see it from the sidelines

It depends. If you go to a local recruiting office, you will join the enlisted ranks and start as an E-1 (Private).

If your collage offered ROTC, then they should be able to referr you to OCS (Officer Cantidate School). If you pass, you will start as O-1 (Leutentant).

A Collage degree dosen't mean anything. I knew several guys who were enlisted that knew more than the Officers. Most officers just say tell the senior enlisted person what needs to be done, and then they get out of the way. Just because you have a collage degree dosen't mean you should be in charge, it has to apply to what you do.

Look for an MOS that will make use of what you have a degree in. Then talk to a recruiter and either Enlist, or tell him you want to go to OCS. Don't let them tell you they can give you an OCS spot after you enlist. You will wait 4 years and then you have to get approval from the base commander to go.

It all depends on which route you want to take.

Enlisted people get the most work, the worst hours and crappy pay. Officres do no work, have weekends off and get paid 3 times their enlisted counterparts do.

I was never one to sit on my butt, so i enlisted in the Corps.
Semper Fi, and good luck making your choice.

If you go enlisted, about the max you would get is E-3 out of boot camp, with a possible quick advancement to E-4 if you go into the Nuclear program in the Navy.

If you go officer, OCS, then you would be an O-1.

EDIT:

Connections won't help you. This is the military, not a civilian company or politics.

Depends are you going Enlisted or Officer? If Officer an O-1 most likely and Enlisted probably an E-3 or E-4.

it somewhat is advisable to seem into ROTC. you're then sure to come again in as a 2nd Lieutenant after college commencement. in the Air rigidity in case you have over 40 5 college credit, then you definately can are available in Enlisted on the grade of E-3. it somewhat is that in case you do no longer finished your college degree. of course in case you do finished your 4 3 hundred and sixty 5 days degree and did no longer do ROTC, then it somewhat is yet another course. you will would desire to be conscious for O.T.S. which stands for Officer training college. it somewhat is amazingly aggressive and you will would desire to do issues to chop up your self from another Psychology. and background considerable.

If you enlist: Army/Marines = private, AF = Airman, Navy = screwed up rank structure - haven't the foggiest (Seaman?)

If thru ROTC: Reserve 2LT/Ensign unless you graduate as a Distinguished Graduate, then Regular 2LT/Ensign

If academy: Regular 2LT/Ensign

If lawyer/doctor it varies.

It depends on what service you join and what you will be studying. If you join the Navy and go into the Nucular field you can go in as an E-4 witch is Petty officer 3rd class. You can also go to O.T.C.

connections mean squat. A 4 year degree will net you E3 in every Branch except Army, they might offer you E4.
