eventually lead to them going back home? Think about it. If they couldn't make money in the U.S., wouldn't they have to go back home to survive? And even if they did try to stay here by stealing, eventually, they would be caught and deported. They wouldn't try to sneak back over because they wouldn't have anything here to come back for. I put this theory in a lot of my answers, but I always seem to get negative feedback so I was just curious what everyone had to think.

I know it's already illegal to hire an illegal, but those laws aren't enforced. My question is based on the fact those laws are enforced.

Alreat Lex let me give your amnesty questions a shot.

I'm a big Mitt Romney supporter and i think you are a supporter too.

1.First thing is to secure the borders.

2.Second is generally to make it so if you are an illegal you wont be able to get a job anywhere, because you need a social security number and all employers must verify you before you become a employee through the computer. If you are the employer and you hire a illegal, you get all the same punishments as not paying your taxes, which can amount to huge punishments if you have been using illegals for years.

3. My opinion: You get caught stealing, or are getting services through anything: homeless shelters, or someone is supporting you so you can live. If you are in any knowledge of the executive branch of the government you get sent back to where ever you came from. Or if you are the supporter of, you get fines and possible jail time.

4. No sanctuary cities (cities where they hire illegals like New York or Miami). This defeats the purpose as a nation. Cities cannot break laws just like citizens.

5.The whole idea is to make legal immigration attractive, and illegal immigration not attractive.

My opinion on this whole deal is good. For example lets use Mexico. If you are a Mexican living in Mexico, and we put these laws up in the U.S, why would you go to the U.S? You have more oppurtunities in Mexico than you do in the U.S. If you decide to go to the U.S anyways, no one can hire you and if your caught (which will be likely because of raised awareness), you get sent home. All for nothing if your a Mexican and you go to the U.S. It's basically taking away all rights of being a citizen, which it should be.

Why not allow Amnesty?
1. raises taxes
2. negative culture impacts (languages, other culture differences)
3. takes away jobs
4. immoral, letting people who snuck and invaded the U.S. citizenship, while other people have been waiting for years and still dont have citizenship.
5. increase in criminals, Example : you snuck in the U.S as a Mexican criminal, we allow amnesty, you apply for citizenship. Your identity starts over, you could be called John Carpenter if you wanted to.
6. Loss of integretity the nation, from allowing illegal law to become legal only for econmical purpose. This is one of the many reason why i think Democrats are immoral.

Anyways, agreed? lol

No, that doesn't make sense to me at all. First of all it just sounds way too extreme, especially in Arizona. People would die in that heat I expect. Second, I doubt it would save people any money in the long run because when people don't have power and other utilities they just steal it or use unsafe replacements like kerosene, candles, gas generators. The government would just be spending all the money they 'saved' with this on catching utility thieves and paying the hospital bills of uninsured illegal immigrants who were burned or injured from kerosene/candle fires, generator explosions or were electrocuted trying to hook up illegal electricity, etc etc. That type of thing happens all the time when power goes out normally, I can't imagine how often it would happen when they shut off utilities to that many people. eta- I doubt people would even leave the country anyway, at best they'd just go to another state. That's not enough to get people to go back to their crappy mountain village in Mexico or wherever- a lot of illegal immigrants probably don't have power or running water in their home country either.

There's no way they're going to get rid of all those illegal aliens no matter what laws they enforce. They're not just going to cross back over the border. Many of them don't even remember their home country. They'll just find other ways to survive in America.

This may work in theory, but in reality it won't work for a number of reasons:

1. there are always under-the-table jobs available (offer maid service in the newspaper, for example).
2. for our sake, we have to offer them certain services, so that they don't become a strain on society (for example, if they can't support themselves they will resort to crime, which hurts everyone else)
3. some may not have the resources to go back anyway (especially those not from Mexico)

So in reality, I don't think that just cutting off their resources all by itself is going to do much.

Protect our borders, aggressively arrest and deport, enforce our labor laws, punish non compliant employers, and cut off access to US taxpayer supported social services (education, healthcare et al).....they are outta here in a skinny NY minute.

When there is nothing to be GAINED by being here illegally ...they won't come. It is that simple.

You're assuming that people that break the law get deported. An illegal hit my husband on the road with no license, insurance, couldn't speack english and they just let her go. Didn't even get a ticket. That's why our country is so screwed up!!!

That's kind of hard to do when you have those jerks like the Mayor of San Fransisco that wants to ignore our laws and give them amnesty and our government won't take action against him. If that were a employer they would be fined, so how can that jerk thumb his nose at the laws and not get fined or arrested?

I agree. Also Ideas that I have posted before...
1. not renting to them
2. not selling cars to them
3. not giving credit to them
4. not letting their kids in schools, and forcing ours to learn spanish
5. making western union charge a huge fee to anyone who is not a citizen, but in the US, sending money out of the US

Eventually-every citizen is sick of it all. Keep your doors locked when it happens. The government is whining though that who`s going to pick our crops. Well why the hell aren`t they back in the fields like it used to be?
