Most HD set-top boxes have an ANT Input which allows you to mix an ANT signal with the cable signal. In that case, you scan through the set-top box which remembers your local channels.

If you don't have a set-top box, try to buy an HD-capable 2-in-1 RF mixer. Connect the two inputs to ANT and Cable and the output to the TV. Ant and cable use different frequencies, but maybe you will be able to scan both the HD local channels and the cable channels.
