Actually, while it is wrong for the most part, it is mentioned in the Bible and sometimes it is wrong and sometimes it is not. Now for the tennant of your question. Some, if not all suicides, are an entense emotional time. Many are not thinking clearly at all or they would not go through with it. My Grandfather might not have killed himself if he had known how it was going to affect all of us, but he is dead and we carry on with all the scars his decision left us. I personally believe God will make his decision based on the life before they killed themselves and he will not make a mistake. Oh when was suicide allowed in the Bible? Sampson. Saul also committed suicide but his was more selfish and likely ended in Hell but for his actions not his demise. These are the two I remember there might be more, but I cannot bring them to mind.

It's an interesting question. The bible does not say anything *specifically* about suicide.

The concept that suicide is irredeemable uses the following reasoning:
..1) It is a sin to commit murder
..2) Murder must be repented of or it cannot be forgiven
..3) Only those whose sins are forgiven will obtain eternal life
..4) Therefore, since you cannot repent after suicide (being dead), you cannot be forgiven and you cannot obtain eternal life

There are some problems with this line of reasoning:
..1) It is possible to repent of a suicide attempt between the act and death. For example, if you jumped off of the Empire State building, you could have plenty of time to repent of such an action and pray to God for forgiveness before you hit pavement (and likely would do so!). There are plenty of other common forms of suicide that do not lead to instantaneous death.
..2) Some sects believe that continual repentance of sin is not necessary. These sects teach that, once saved, all sins that you will ever commit have been forgiven. If this teaching is true, forgiveness of your last act is not a deciding factor in obtaining eternal life.

The suicide=no heaven is primarily a teaching of the more traditional sects of Christianity, such as Roman Catholicism. In this sect, murder is considered a "mortal" sin that must be repented of prior to death, whereas "venial" sins will not necessarily damn you if you fail to repent of them prior to death. There are many sects which hold this particular teaching, and there is scriptural basis for it.

Some people are so depressed or suffer from dimentia Its that it may be an" Out" I honestly believe that God in his Infinite Wisdom could and Would forgive such an act if the person was not of a sound mind .Orherwise taking your life is definately a sin !!

1 Cor 10:23-24 clearly states that suicide would be in the best interest of the group.

Under the first covenant, suicide would be taking a life, your life.

Under the second covenant, there is nothing biblical that supports it.

As for your heaven question, God not man judges.

Suicide is murder, murder of ones self.
Murder is a sin, and if you kill yourself, you took your life which is not your own, into your own hands, which is like a huge sin, like 2 sins in one. Its breaking one of the 10 commandments, and in James 2, not sure which verse, the bible says that when you break one commandment you break them all. So that's really not cool, and....
Yes one would go to hell!

ANY murder is against GOD. And with sin you must repent to be forgiven...no way to ask for 4giveness if ur already dead & gone.

Dont kill yourself tho dude. We have too much to live for! Just pray if you're that depressed. You are obviously somewhat religious conscious to be asking about the Bible. Good Luck & God Bless, my friend.

Elisha was were depressed ones, and wanted GOD to take his life (what God didn't do), but Elisha himself didn't do that!

Suicide is like murder. Therefore, you cannot go to heaven if you do that.
I remember I read somewhere of a girl who tried to commit suicide, and she was clinically dead for a time. When she came back, she told she was in HELL when she was death!

Yes, the issue is weather or not you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is just very hard to imagine a true believer trying to play God and take his own life. When we make Jesus Christ the Lord of our lives He is in control of our lives and a true believer allows Christ to set the time for their death. It is certainly possible but it begs the question if the person was a true believer.

If you are thinking of killing yourself please e-mail me before you do that...please!
