The New American Standard Bible.
But I have read the KJV, RSV, NIV, AV,Modern Language Bible (Berkeley), Phillips, Williams, Beck, Knox, Rotherham, Moffat, Amplified, Tanakh, Septuagint, Jerusalem, Living Bible, NEB, Wuest Expanded Translation and Greek Interlinear Bible.

Primarily I read the King James Version (KJV), but in study I like to use The Message Translation and The Amplified Bible.
There are other translation out there as well. NIV (New International Version), TLB (The Living Bible) and others.

I grew up with the King James Version. It helped me understand the English language so much! I either read the KJV or the NASB. I also, recently have really enjoyed the new English Standard Version. For Greek comparison I love the Phillips translations.
Their are three types of translations: A word for word = JKV, NASB, ESV, or a dynamic equivalent, or thought for thought = NIV, NLT, or a paraphrase = The Living Bible. The most accurate is always the word for word.

New American Standard Bible
the one I have is called The New Inductive Study Bible and includes study guides from Precept Ministries.
This version is translated word for word from the original languages.
What about you? If you are not already in a Bible study and want help getting started, feel free to email me.

I own several bibles at different translations but for study I like the Thompson Chain Reference Bible. American Standard is OK but very watered down. The NIV is OK not quite so watered down.
Just for reading I like the Amplified Version.
You can find all these and more and in a lot of different languages at bibleresources.bible.com.
Just read it , doesn't matter which.

I like the to see what the Bible says in differant versions, so I like to use The New Living, The New American Standard, and The Message. Of course to get the full and true meaning using a Vines concordence that gives the origional greek.
