How do you know what one of your eyes is your good eye? I have a lazy eye. I see mostly out of my right eye so I n pretty sure that is my good eye. When I go cross eyed, the eye I see out of mostly stays straight and doesnt mo0ve while my left eye, the one I hardly see out of goes in like when you go cross eyed. So which one is my good eye and which one is my lazy eye?

Your good eye is the eye you see better with. Pick out a sign in the distance that you can read, then close one eye, then the other. Which ever eye you see the sign better with is likely your stronger eye. Also try the same thing with a book at reading distance. If one eye is always more blurry than the other than that is your weaker eye.

Depending on your age it may not be too late to strengthen your weak eye.

Also depending on your age it may be worth having surgery to correct your eye crossing. Sometimes even the right pair of glasses can straigten your eyes.

Regardless you seen to see an ophthalmologist for a full eye exam. The sooner, the better.

.I wore very strong spectacles until just over 4 years ago. I was long sighted and had astigmatism. My left eye was the lazy one, like yours. I inquired at the local eye hospital to see if I could have an op. that would decrease my prescription. It was 8.75 in one and 8.25 in the other. Can't remember if it was plus or minus. Anyway, the surgeon said that as I had the start of cataracts in both eyes, that wouldn't worry me for about 10 - 15 years, he could legally do the operation and the Govt would pick up the bill. Now I can read the phone book with my left eye and use my right for distance. Yes, that is correct. My eyes never did work together. with my glasses off I used to shut my left eye to see to do my hair or put make-up on, then with my glasses on, my right eye was dominant. So I had the choice of having my eyes exactly the same script, or different and still wear specs for driving and distance. When I had my first eye 'done' I could see the small print and walking around the supermarket without glasses and being able to read the price tags was just wonderful. I felt like I should have a big sign on my back saying, I can read without my specs after having worn glasses since I was 2. My elderly parents didn't think they would live to see the day when their 'little girl' could read without glasses. Have the op if you need it. Good Luck

I think its your left eye. I have the exact same problem... I will switch from eye to eye while the eye I am not seeing out of will cross in (looking at my nose). But I can only look straight ahead with my left eye. If I try with my right eye it will just cross in. So I guess my lazy eye would be my right eye.. but no matter what eye I use the other will cross.

I'm sure its your left eye if you only go cross eyed when you are not using it.

Sounds like the "lazy eye" is your left eye.

But you need to see an ophthalmologist (MD specializing in eye diseases).

Look in the mirror at your nose.

The eye that isn't looking directly at your nose is the lazy eye.
