I was watching the passion of Christ and I heard As Jesus said that we shall love those who hate us, because if we love just those who love us, where is the reward?

Jesus asked God to forgive those who crucified them. He asked that to God while he was crucified? From now on, love those who say that your God is a "flying spaghetti monster", those who say that you are idiot for believing in God." Those who say that your God is delusional." Love those people, because they have given their belief to a bunch of human whom they call "scientists."

The same scientist that said 10 years ago that cigarettes didn't cause cancer. The same scientist that say that global warming was fiction.

Love those people. Let's live like brother, even if those are not our brothers. As the bigger person, you should give the first step. Don't contradict atheists, just let them talk so much until they contradict themselves.

As Christian you may be forgetting your mission: get the message out, dont force it.

When I was in the military in my country. I was told that if some one curse my mother, I should just say "Thanks for making me remember her." Do the same when people say things about God, say THANKS. Thanks for making me remember God.

Every post that you see with a question that wanna just make you angry or is so pointless say "thanks for making me remember my God."

I already love these people.
That is why I share the Gospel with them.
Only the True God can really help them, and He will only do this in and through the name of His Son Jesus Christ.
I do love those who hate me,
but I reserve the right to define what love is, according to the word of God; not someones opinion.

Yes to your question - we are to love those who hate us - sometimes very difficult to do, but those were the words of Christ. We have to recognize that there will be people that will never hear our words - but the judgment by God is God's business. We are also told that if people will not hear our words, then we are to leave them. (When the disciples were told to go out to spread the word, if a village would not listen, then they should shake the dust off their shoes and leave). But they were never told to hate those people. Same for us - love them, spread the Good News, and if they don't want to listen, then leave.

It is hard but Yes we must love those who hate us,

Matthew 5:43-48

43"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' (44) But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, (45) that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. (46) If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? (47)And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? (48) Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

No. I think that if you really love those who hate you, you are crazy. It makes no sense. I don't hate anyone, but I am choosy about who I give my love to. I really don't believe that that kind of love exists in a sane world. I like what you said about not reacting to things said to insult or anger you. That is a good and healthy tactic. But to love them is something different. You can pity them, or forgive them, or ignore them, but I don't believe you can't really love someone who actually hates you.

Yes, we must love those who persecute and despitefully use us for Christ's sake!

However, after we have made them know to the Truth - God's Word, then we must avoid any further confrontation with that person if they continue in sin! For Sin corrupts the Spirit!

God bless!!

You need not love those who hate you. But you can see passed their hate and try to understand why it is the way they are. If it doesn't make any sense, all that can be done is to pray for God to forgive them and guide them on the straight path.

If you are a Christian, then yeah, you should try to. Jesus loved the people who killed him. And we are supposed to be Christ like, "Christian", so we should also. Not the "love" the world thinks of most of the time, having sex, but caring for them, and their well bring

As an individual who doesn't rely on one religion, I believe we are all reincarnated and that it is necessary, for our learning, for us to be both good and bad in different lives.

Therefore, love is irrelevant because I feel, if not in this life then the next, the person who hates me will probably learn better in their next life.
