how dose the cross train works my hubby deployed and told me that he was put on the list to get cross train or to get out tell how can this be?

ok.. My hubby called me and told me that he was put on a list to cross train or he would have to get out ok like can the military make you cross train or you have to ask to get cross train or if you know a website i can look at to see why they would have him to cross train

yes, the military can force you to cross train into another MOS/Rating/AFSC if the one they are in is overmanned or going away. If you opt not to cross train, you will be discharged, and no, you don't always have a choice of what your cross train into.

If they are saying he HAS to cross train or get out it is most likely because he has not met all his testing or readiness requirements in his current job, the job is being eliminated from the military or outsourced to civilians or he simply is not doing well (not everyone does well in every career). If he plans to stay in, he will have to cross train. He may have some choices as to what field he goes into though, so he should find out what the possibilities are.

A branch of the service will run a program like that when they're over-staffed in certain jobs and under-staffed in others. Those in over-staffed jobs will be given the opportunity to retrain into an understaffed job or get discharged.
