Hi, I love my girlfriend to death. My personality is more of a care-free, live int he moment attitudes, but when i'm around her, I get all mushy and stuff. Always massaging her, always paying for dinner, always there to do whatever she wants. But she acts as though she isn't into me at all. Do you think if I acted more "macho" like my personality around my friends, that she would be into me more? Do girls REALLY like it when you don't treat them like princesses?

You say you get mushy when you're around her.......do you think you could kinda "confront" her? Just really be straight with her.....ask her if she is happy in the relationship? What does she want that she doesn't have? Exactly where does she want to be and with who would she rather be with? Don't let her get away with giving vague answers. Pin her down. Tell her you have to know. Tell her that she seems to be off somewhere else in her thoughts and not there with you. Why is that? Shake her up! Get to the heart of the matter, once and for all. Really talk it out. You won't have peace in your heart about this "wall" between you until you tear it down; when it's torn down, then you'll have peace. You will have to be very persistant. How long has she been like this? It could be that in her home, growing up, she was never allowed to express herself in any way. And when she started to speak, she was silenced by her parent and she just retreated inside herself and created an invisible shell where she could be safe. Let her know that she is safe with you...you may be the one to liberate her.

No, don't change your personality. Just... tone down the mushyness abit. Get HER to do things for you. Make sure there is a balance in the relationship and that you aren't doing all of the work. Also, do some of the things you want to do sometimes. You don't always have to go out to dinner. Let her see your GUY side a bit.

And no, girls don't like it when you treat them badly at all. You just need to find out what will help liven things up a bit. Make sure you can have some fun. BOTH of you.

Just strike a balance. Open doors, pay for like 60-70% of dates, compliment her, make her feel good about herself. At the same time, joke around, be "playful-mean", and point out stuff about each other that you both can laugh about without hurting yourselves. Don't be clingy and always needing to be with her; hang out with your other friends too, and don't be too much of a girly guy, but don't be too much of a guy either.

omg. okay. so girls love being treated like princesses, but not all the time man. they want someone who isnt a pussy too. so just make fun of her without being mean (make her laugh at herself and playfully punch you at the same time) invite her to hang out and then make it seem like she forced you to do it. but if your going on a date (like dinner) then thats whne you need to be sweet. but you cant be like that all the time.
