Check the national breed club at www.pugs.org. There may be a breed club in RI, or in a neighboring state you can join to get to know local pug owners and breeders. If you are considering getting a pug, rescue is another option to consider. Also, find when there will next be a dog show in your area. Go and find when the pugs are showing, watch them in the ring, and afterwords, talk with some of the exhibitors.

I'm sorry that I don't know of any breeders, but http://www.petfinder.com has 918 pugs available for adoption though various rescues.

I dont know but if you do ALWAYS get the runt!!!! They are the most well behaved. We got 2 pugs and 1 of them was a runt and we had to take the one that wasnt the runt back b/c it was sooooo naughty. Our dog now is 10 years old and she is the most well behaaved dog ever!!!!!

No such thing as a "teacup" dog. They are sickly runts bred by backyard breeders. If you get one be prepared for some hefty vet bills.
