Most of them spend their time either:

> adapting their own lives in a vain attempt to be more godly or,
> picking apart the lives of other people by trying to convert them or condemn them

Could the simplest way to help cure someone of religion be to foster their own personal sense of well being i.e. tell them to get a life instead of living someone elses?

Its so much easier for them to try and judge others instead of themselves.
They should get a new religion like football

Could say the same for atheists, since it seems many (though I am sure not all) on this site seem to want to bash those of us that have a faith. Is adapting their life to be more Godly such a bad thing? I mean if more people were doing that then we would have less murder, less robbery, less crime in general! That could only make this a nicer world to live in. I have ran into people that feel it nec. to push their faith down a persons throat. While I do not agree with it, I also do not agree with downing someone for what they believe, whether they are Christan's or atheists

I have one, thanks, and I'm perfectly happy with it!

I know that I'm not the one who will change me to be more "godly." Anything I am, and anything I become, will be because God helped me to be that way.

And why would I condemn anyone else, or attempt to "convert" them? I can't convert anyone even if I tried! All I can do is try to live my life the best I can, and hope that when others look at me, they see someone who's really trying to be like Jesus.

Jesus has given me a life! If there was only humanity, what a awful thing. Humans are quite terrible and that is because of sin. If you are a true Christian, you do try to be more Christ-like, but because we can never be perfect and non are righteous, Jesus died on the cross for our sins. I agree that some Christians can be self-righteous and can pick apart others, and I don't agree with their actions. I believe the only way to truly convert someone is to live as an example and pray, not to shove your beliefs into someone's face.

Yes, If you have nothing better to do than waste time in church or quote scripture which has no meaning at all to anyone alive today, you very obviously need to get a life and find some way to be more productive with your time. Surely you could find something more productive to do like clean a shower curtain, or scrub baseboards with a toothbrush.

God is very real. It is very very important for people to understand that Quantum Mechanics says there is only one reality which can be interpreted an infinite number of ways. Aren't you aware that almost without exception every great scientific mind has come to be very religious. As Albert Einstein said: religion without science is blind...but science without religion is lame.' But then I guess you could call all of them nerds for not having a life.

I used to think spiritual people were crazy...but then something happened that turned my life upside down!

And you have the best life imaginable right? Cure someone of religion? Wow! I guess honoring God, going to Church, having faith, and being concerned about others is a bad thing?? Not! If you want to know who needs to get a life, you may want to look in a mirror. Hope you don't get mad, but I'll pray for you.

Think for themselves comes to mind. But, I'd be willing to bet evolution has a hand in this. The trait to fosters a belief in a supreme being has slowly evolved over the generations.

Not just the religious people, but all people should get a life.

The world is so beautiful and has so much to offer, and seems some people around her are just here to pick on one another. Go out, and see the world, it is wondrous.

Yes. Their religion gets in the way of life. It keeps them from doing things they really want to do.
