The reason God gave us rules is that he is the one that made us. He designed us and knows what is best for us. Following these rules ensures that we will be happy and healthy, living long and productive lives. There are also people that take things to the extreme. I don't think that is what God had in mind. I believe that he wants only what is best for us because he loves us more than we could ever know. So. no I don't pity Christians. Besides even if I am wrong and you are right (which I am not) I will have led a great life and will die happily while if I am right and you are wrong,,, well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Kelth, want to know where you got that statistic from. I believe that's not true, it is believed that majority of prisoners or in jail are illegals. So, I think Kelth got his facts wrong.
I do not pity Christians at all. I pity people like the Iranian president who wants to wipe Israel off the map and who wants to destroy America. I think you are pitying the wrong people.
I also believe you are wrong about religion having restrictions of natural behavior. You have to understand that all humans do know from right or wrong, it is up to them to make that decision. I think everyone has feelings, if you don't have any type of feelings or emotions, then you probably are not human after all.

Keith..those that are in prison realized that they were in need of a Savior. Thanks to those who ministered to these lost souls they now have hope. I hope there are 75% Christians. I'd rather have them on my side when they get out.
As for you Mary..don't pity Christians your wasting your time. Our relationship with God opened up our eyes to see the truth before it was too late. We are no longer blind like you are. We have been blessed for it and when that time comes we will be blessed for eternity to come. You however have no hope and when your time arrives it is you that should be pitied.

Yes, religion restricts natural life in order to access supernatural life. I really pity those who pity Christians, because they have willingly forfeited the means of knowing what being human really is. And it is GREAT to be fully human!

why would you pity me? I have a relationship with God that is absolutely the greatest- not because of anything that I have done, but because of what Jesus did for me. What is natural behavior- SIN. You can pity me if you want, but it is awesome to be the daughter of THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. actually you are the one that should be pitied, You are missing out not just on heaven, but on life to its fullest here on earth.

stereotype much?
i have a completely normal wide range of emotions...but i like to think that i have enough maturity and intelligence to know that much of what this culture calls 'wants and needs' is really nothing more than an 'itch'...what a lot of people call 'natural behavior' is not healthy for me-i mean, for a dog in heat, copulating with the first thing that comes along is 'natural', but i'd like to think that i'm at least a bit above and beyond that...and getting wasted out of my gourd or commode-hugging drunk lost its appeal a long time ago...i don't see how it's restrictive to follow a way of living that goes beyond living just for the moment, elbowing my way into the trough to scarf up all the goodies i can, and devoting myself to the material and temporary...i have no regrets and feel no loss for following Christ-my life is far more rewarding than it ever was before i was saved

Religion is a doctrine....faith does not. I don't need a church to tell me what faith has taught me.
Pity no one. What someone does or does not believe does not affect me in the least. If I worry about me and you worry about you, how would that cause a problem for someone else?

No reason in this world to Pity a Christian!......We Have A Peace In Our heart that No Amount Of Money Can Buy.....And You Will Never Understand How Wonderfully Well-Off We Are.........Unless Of course, You Find Jesus Too! (Then You will Laugh at YOUR OWN Opinions.) " Well, God Bless You". (smile)

If religion is the culprit, than it's not just Christianity. Take a look at Islam. But apart from that, most cultural and ethnic groups and cultures are oppressive in one way or another. It's not just religion. Any type of culture has a set of rules that it tries to impose. Religion has nothing to do with it.

No, after their history of persecuting everybody else to death in the world I have no pity for them at all.
They are also incredible ignorant about their religion. Fewer than one half of those claiming to be religious can name even one of the four gospels (2005 survey by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life)
