Someone said, of Jesus, "...he obviously isn't alive in the sense that we are". I thought that was the whole point of this resurrection business. How do Christian folks think that Jesus is alive... but not really alive?

Dang... look at these answers... gullibility... willful ignorance... self-delusion... bamboozlement... drooling stupidity... indoctrinated... brainwashed... it is mind-boggling.... and very, very, very sad. Humanity is doomed. Only one sane person in the lot.

Jesus is alive like we are. The only difference is that He now has an eternal spiritual body like believers will have at the resurrection which is why He could do things like appear in a locked room seemingly from nowhere.

John 20:26 Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you." 27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe." 28 Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!" 29 Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." 30 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

1 Corinthians 15:35 But someone will ask, "How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?"

36 You foolish person! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 37 And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare kernel, perhaps of wheat or of some other grain. 38 But God gives it a body as he has chosen, and to each kind of seed its own body. 39 For not all flesh is the same, but there is one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish. 40 There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is of one kind, and the glory of the earthly is of another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory.

42 So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. 43 It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

45 Thus it is written, "The first man Adam became a living being"; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47 The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven. 48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. 49 Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven. 50 I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. 54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."

Whoever told you that was not correct. Christianity does not teach such a concept, and such a concept is not biblical. Jesus is very much alive - just like we are. He is resurrected in the body.

There is very little historical evidence to indicate that "Jesus" ever lived. If he did, he is very dead since that was 2000 years ago. Resurrection? A lie.

He is alive...He sits on the right hand of God. All believers who die are alive also..and have the same kind of glorified body that he has.
If you were so see the Lord, he still has the nail holes in his wrists.

When we confess our sins and ask for forgiveness, Jesus comes and lives inside us. Our lives are changed forever. He leads and guides us. This is a wonderful thing, but you will not be able to understand it or know how to use this wonderful gift if you don't read and learn about it:

If you want to read and learn God's Word, here is a day by day outline on how to read and study the Bible:

Jesus is eternally alive. He experienced physical death and His spirit was quickened. He was given a brand new INCORRUPTIBLE resurrection body - you will have one too if you are born again!

I copied this from the Yahoo reference dictionary. I hope it will help you:
The act of rising from the dead or returning to life.
The state of one who has returned to life.
The act of bringing back to practice, notice, or use; revival.

Since these times do allow for most to be free thinkers who are very busy attempting to satisfy their own desires, maybe this will help you to satisfy your own such desires.

Do have a good day and keep asking such thoughtful questions.
