are you serious? first pick a food and stick to it. second stop feeding them the extra. feeding too much food does not give anythings body a nice build or i would be a model. exercise and a premium dog food diet are what makes a healthy dog. depending on the breed will determine how buff your dog is. all your are accomplishing is overfeeding your puppies. which will lead to nothing but obiesty and other health issues. thank goodness at least the dogs have enough sense to limit their intake. you should follow their example. pick one brand of food, preferably a premium food, not a common store brand and why mix rice and fish in it? the food contains the proper amount of meat and fillers to keep your dog's healthy. seriously? you can't be.

Put down a good dog food (any premium) for 20 minutes twice a day. If the dog doesn't eat don't give it anything (No Treats or human food). Do this everyday. Eventually the dog will eat. My shih tzu didnt eat for 5 days. She drank water and was fine but refused to eat. After the 5th day she scarfed down her food and ever since that she was never finicky. Now it seems mean, but that is the best way to do and I can guarantee it works. If your giving the dogs human food or snacks when they don't eat they learn to hold out and they get something more tasty. When you only offer their food they realize they are not getting anything else. It may take less or more time with your dog if you try this. If you dont want to do that try mixing certain foods with the dry dog food. Such as cooked rice or steamed veggies or even wet food. At pet stores they sell gravies and mixers.

If you give your dog a good quality food, they shouldn't need much other food. You might want to switch your brand of dog food. I know a lot of people on yahoo answers recommend canidae, and say it's the best. I feed purina pro plan though. Some of it may depend on the breed you have -- what brand is best.
But I don't think you need to worry about forcing your dogs to eat more. They know how much they need to feel full and have energy. It could actually be dangerous for them to overeat, as a dog can get bloat, where the stomach turns over and can kill the dog if they don't get surgery.
So I'd go with a better quality food to make sure your dogs are getting the best nutrition, and not worry about all the extras like fish and meat. I mean, as a treat those things are good, but they are not really needed (nutritionally) with a good dogfood.

Stop feeding them bad foods, but besides that never force them to eat what they don't want to, my dogs never eat all at one setting, i free feed them but i also have 5 dogs so i try to make sure they are all eating, some are like a little here and there, and others would eat it in a setting. As long as your dogs look healthy then they are fine, maybe cut back on how many times you are feeding them. Stick to one food, and make sure it is for puppies. Alpo/pedigree are not that great of foods..

If you're worried about your pets not getting enough food you can buy them food for active dogs . Try this tip: Take some of their food and put it in the blender for a few seconds, then sprinkle it on their dog food. I buy vitamins from the pet store and put it with a tablespoon of canned food and feed them that once a day to ensure that they get their vitamins and keep a healthy coat. If you don't like giving your pet canned food you can mix the vitamins with a bit of water and add it to their food.
I read on the internet that feeding your dog 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in their water every day keeps them healthy and gives them a shiny coat. Below is a link about the health advantages of feeding your dog apple cider vinegar.
If you are interested in making your own dog food with the food you have , there is a good article in the following link with a recipe for homemade dog food as well. Your dogs will probably love it.
Always remember that when you change a dogs diet to do it gradually so as not to upset their little stomachs.

If they are not skinny(can see their ribs and hip bones sticking way out) and seem to be health, happy and playful, there is no reason to force them to finish the food, you'll just make them overweight. It sounds like your dogs are getting alot of food (dog food, plus rice-very filling, and meat is really a ton of food for a dog of any size). They will eat what they want to be full and then stop, making them eat more won't make them grow any bigger besides in their girth.

You cannot force a dog to eat food! If they are not eating your food, they are not hungry. If they have eaten some of it, that is all they need. Adult dogs require less that pups, but since yours are an adolesent and a pup, they both need 3-4 meals per day. Good quality food will get them to grow, not a lot of it. You will encourage your dogs to over eat if you give them too much and they will become fat.

Well stick to one food, to many food changes can upset their stomach. Please do not over feed your dog so he looks the way "you" want him to. Having a healthy dog, should be your main concern. Your dogs will quit eating when they are full..
