My theology professor hated to see me come to class because he knew I would some dam, question that he couldn't answer. The whole God sacrificing his own son just made no sense what so ever. God sets his son up, has Judas betray him and then Jesus rises again and just what did the Christian God sacrifice? Why is Judas a traitor instead of a saint? This is a mythology like many other religions including mine. But I don't force mine down anyone's throat, or steal their freedom to worship as they please. Oh well, you can't talk to them because they are selectively deaf!

He endured all of God's wrath on Himself so that God wouldn't have to pour out His wrath on us. It is not God's love that saves us. It is His justice that saves us, and that only when we ask Him to credit our sins to Jesus Christ on the cross, so that they can be paid for by Him, and we don't have to pay for them in hell. That is a sacrifice bigger than any human will ever understand. He also left heaven, where He was exalted, worshiped, treated really well, to come to Earth as a Jew and be oppressed by the Romans, rejected by His own people, etc. He sacrificed a lot of things. But it was worth it because He is alive today and He gets to spend eternity with His kids. We Christians believe that if we get to know Jesus in the fellowship of His sufferings, that we will one day, and to a limited extent, in the present day, get to rule and reign with Him, and know the power of His resurrection. And it was His life that He sacrificed in a way because He did die for a few days.

Isaiah 53:4-6 says, "Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all."
Isaiah 53:12 says, "For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."
The next time we see him, he will come in glory. He is a mighty king and will come to rule the nations. Yes, he gave up his earthly life as a sacrifice for us! His blood washes away our sin. This was necessary since there is no person on earth without sin. God has raised him up and he is at the right hand of the Almighty now! The next time you will see him, he will come in glory! He will rule the nations from the throne of his forefather, David!

The first thing He gave up was His royalty! He came from Heaven to the earth, as a man, in flesh. He was hunted, as a child, by a king who found out about Him through three astronomers from the East. To save Him from death, his parents had to flee! So, He gave up his birthplace to escape death... all this, when He was but a toddler.
At twelve, He was teaching the priests, at the Temple. He had been left behind and when they (parents) realized this, they went back for Him. Mary found Him teaching. She scorned Him and Immediately he told her,"I must be about My Father's business!" ....He gave up family intimacy to do God's bidding!
At thirty, He began His ministry. He was mocked, ran out of town, called names ...He had all the emotions we do as He was in the flesh and yet...He chose love!
He was falsely accused, beaten, spat upon, mocked, crucified and speared....He gave up ALL His life as that royal blood ran freely! He did NOT have to give up any of these things. He could have called thousands of Angels to set Him free! He could have destroyed man! He didn't because He loved us and has redeemed us...if only we accept Him.
His entire life was a sacrifice of sorts! But, His sacrifice has provided a way to the Father and I thank Him everyday!

His life. Though he died on the cross he went to hell and obtained the keys to death, hell and the grave. He did die and was then resurrected three days later. Because he holds the keys he can therefore offer you eternal life as well without any further animal sacrifices or priests to offer up supplication for you.

Have you read the bible ever...I mean he was brutally beaten so badly!!!!! He was bleeding so badly...he shed his own blood for us....doesn't that mean anything to anyone anymore? I mean people just seem so ungreatful anymore! Can you imagine what it felt like to edure being nailed to a cross with spikes sticking through your feet and hands and have to be beeten and bloodied to death? One question...would you have thought it wouldn't be a big deal if you had to endure what Jesus did? I think if that was me...i would have already been dead after the first beeting!!!! Praise Jesus!!!!!!

Clearly it was His life because obviously His body isn't with us but it's His Spirit that lives on in us. Don't fret, you'll see the Son of Man coming down on the clouds from heaven in all His glory. Then your knee will bow and your tongue will confess.

It was His life. He obviously isn't alive in the sense that we are and suffered death.
John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
