because it's cheaper to farm out their call center to a place where the labor is cheap and the workers are plentiful. Most airlines are doing this nowadays........

Lots of airlines use India for their reservations and lost baggage call centers. There is no reason for those functions to be any particular place and telecommunications is cheap.
Airline deregulation is the cause of all these problems. I was not sure of what that all meant, but when I heard Ted Kennedy arguing for Airline deregulation, I figured it was not a good thing and I was right.

Because labour is cheap in India as compared to Canada and as such many jobs are outsourced to India
