then who was up there when he came down to earth?

Someone above me said this:

"God exists Eternally as Three Persons, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit."

If that is the case, then why is GOD refered to in the Bible as a SEPERATE PERSON from Jesus? (Mark 10:18; John 17:1-3; 1 Cor. 11:3, etc.)

Jesus plainly told us that he is inferior to God ( John 14:28 ). Also, if Jesus was God, why does the bible say that no man has seen God ( 1 John 4:12 ). Another thing, if Jesus was God and God was on earth, then who was he praying to. And what about Matthew 6:9, Jesus was praying to our father... "where". . There is one more scenario that utterly shows that Jesus is not God and God is not a trinity. Lets go to the Garden of Gethsemane, This is where Jesus was handed over to the Roman guards. He was praying to his father ( Matthew 26:39 ) and he plainly said, "not my will but your will be done". Excuse me , am I not counting right,or are there two separate wills here. Jesus will, asking to be let out of the situation he was in, and his Fathers will, that he continue on. Jesus knew that he had to "SUBMIT" to his fathers will.

Jesus and the "father" are one. Jesus is described as the word of God, Read New Testament, Book of John. Chapt. 1, v. 1-14 specifically.

God and it's word are one. I agree with a few previous answers--God is Spirit and it's possible for God to be anywhere it wishes to including more than one place at a time. Sorry, can't explain how the Holy Spirit accomplishes such a task but you can always pray on it for understanding and to have it revealed to you.

Good luck in increasing your understanding.

p.s. Jesus had to subordinate himself to God, if not God would have put it's earthly form above it's original self. Knowing this ofcourse Jesus made himself subject to the "father" in his teachings.

Jesus is God exactly the same God you are and all of mankind are, mans intelligence came from the spiritual world, and it was that intelligence that created the world we live in including the universe, now I know that is a little hard to accept but you will along with mankind find out one day that it is true, the greatest mystery is in the mind of man, and one day he will learn to use it, man truly could move a mountain if he really focused on it, because he has that ability to do so.

It's God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. God the Father was there. You might want to look at it sort of like a team Three figures on the team=Father, Son, Holy Spirit. One "team" called God, three beings (or Gods) on the team.

IN Christain mythology, when the "Son" of god, Jesus, became man (while maintaining his divintiy), God the "Father and Holy Spirit" remained in heaven, althought the spirit descended a few times.

Jesus is god only in Christian mythology.

Yes, Jesus is God. Haven't you ever heard of the Trinity? God the Father, Jesus the Son, and The Holy Spirit (the Comforter who dwells within us.) God was still in Heaven when Jesus came to earth to free us from our sins.

Jesus is just one embodiment of the Spirit. Remember the Holy Trinity? He would be the son. Anyway, I don't believe for one moment that God just stays "up there" anyhow. According to Christianity He is omnipresent after all.

God exists Eternally as Three Persons, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.

So when Jesus was born to Mary, God the Father was up there minding the store.

Jesus is gods physical embodiment.
God basically made a physical being and gave it equal wisdom, power and love and that is Jesus
