No I don't doubt Jesus. When I say Jesus I'm referring to the one and only Jesus Christ of the Bible. Jesus IS GOD manifested in the flesh to save us from our sins. Here are a few verses to illustrate his deity.. as you know God said "I am" and Jesus said ..."I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!" John 8:58
"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth". John 1:14
"I and the Father are one."John 10:30
Jesus never sinned therefore he was the only one "Good Enough" to cleanse us from all our sins. "He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth." 1 Peter 2:22
We all are sinners (even just one sin separates us from God)
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," Romans 3:23 As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; Romans 3:10
Bible believing Christians believe that we can NOT earn our way to heaven by doing any good deeds where ALL other religions believe you can do something to "earn" your way to heaven. "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." Romans 10:10-11
for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13 God does tell us to make sure what we hear and believe is from Him ..."Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world." 1 John 4:1-6

One of the illustrations in the Alpha course: once upon a time, a soldier who had a problem wanted to meet the President of his country, but after trying all day long could not get an audience due to his humble position, and the President was always surrounded by high ranking aides. Dejected, he sat outside in the huge lawns of the presidential palace. A little boy playing nearby noticed the gloomy countenance of the seated combatant, approached him and asked him why was he sad. The soldier hesitated, and then opened up revealing that he wished to speak to the President about his problem but a day’s efforts had yielded no results. The little boy thought for a moment and then said to the man, “follow me.” The solder did as the boy bid; not knowing what could come of accompanying such a little boy, when he had failed. The boy took him to a side door to the presidential palace and led him in. They walked past various rooms, hallways and passages, going deeper into the huge structure. Anyone they met on the way, the maids, guards, even higher officials, let them pass without any questions. The soldier’s amazement changed to uneasiness: where was this little boy leading him? Finally, they came before a huge oak door, and the little boy entered without knocking. There in the centre of the room stood the President, with his officials surrounding him. They were listening to the President. The soldier was speechless.

The President stopped speaking, looked at the little boy -- there was silence -- and said, “Speak?” The boy answered, “Father, this man here has a problem and requests you to hear him out...”
The little boy was the President’s own son!

God came to in human form, as Jesus Christ, so that He could show us the way to Him (the Father). Jesus, as God’s only son, and very God himself, has access to the Father. He died for us, for our sins, in place of us, so that nobody could accuse God of being unfair and forgiving a person just because they believed in Him, even though all of us are far from the “righteous and holy” men and women God intend us to be, to have access to Him. For those of us who without even seeing, believe in such a great (one and only) God, accept His message of love and turn and repent of our (uncountable) sins, our God forgives us based on our (little) “faith”, and gives us the free gift of His Holy Spirit. He changes our lives, to be more like that of our master, and we find love, peace, salvation and life (with a hope for future glory :-)

Thus on this modest phrase “faith in God” does the hope of every believing Christian and Jew depend, right from the creation of this world.

May God bless you,
Andrew

There are lots of people here who doubt Jesus is something unique. A good man, no doubt; a good teacher and possibly even a Magus. But some unique metaphysical oneness with God? A sacrificial lamb who made it OK for everyone else? No. As I read the Bible, he said we were all capable of the same intimacy with God if we accepted it.

There are enough people here that doubt there is any entity called God, let alone that Jesus was the special person Christians believe. To them, citing the Bible as evidence means nothing, as they do not believe it is divinely inspired. I don't; not in the sense you Christians mean. I think all inspiration is divine, even that which inspires people to write bad things. They raise the issues, people think about them, it's all good.

Actually thats would be more like wicca and maybe buddism as they dont pick relgious and sectarian wars, have hundreds of years on evil murderous inquistions specailising in toture, rape and turturing people to death like burning them alive, hang drawing and quatering, ripping off breasts etc.

Likewise no terrorisim, homophobia against nice gays, and suppression of woemn and their sexaulity, vicoius sexual repression especailly of teenagers and young single couples and any nice girls working in the sex industry from dancers to porns stars and hookers.

No repression of all birth control leading to a world awash with unwanted, unplanned children most of whom abused or lead awful lives.

Basically your are spouting bs sales talk much like a dealer says how wonderful heroin is and how you wont' get addicted.

But once hooked its real nature comes out.

oh and if you anaysise many of the miraculaous acts of god we have perfectly resonable explantions and its like a celebrity biolography leaving out all the 'interesting and honest stuff' for a white the white ash.

Especially as the 20s and teens were left out.

People have virgin borths all the time, the parting of the red sea most likely a tsnamie, burning bushes were cannibis growns emmn, and have you read pro rape deutronomy in the bible its all justifying murder and rape

Honey I don't doubt Jesus. Doubt implies wavering...I am absolutely sure that Jesus was not the son of god and that christianity is not the true religion. He may have been a historical figure...i have doubt on that one. But i like the love, live, peace part...keep up that part of your religion.

Know, that jesus alone does not hold the monopoly on those qualities. They existed before christianity of any description and they will last until the end of time.

You know, I have peace, love salvation and glory, but I never got Jesus. He really isn't the most important part of the equation.

The problem is that Jesus father allows so many other religions that take people away from Christianity. The majority of people on this planet have chosen not to be Christian. Jesus must be saying, "Thanks a lot Dad".

jesus is real..but christianity is a cult...i wish you well in working out the difference between spirituality(takes a lil thought and self-direction) and religion(generaly - systemissed child abuse and peasant control). ignorance is bliss huh? hard to work out what is the bliss of ignorance and the bliss of enlightenment...generally, if you learned it from a book or a preacher it'll be the former though....
good luck!

I agree with LaserPhaser. So is Buddha.

And to Muslims, Mohammed.

And to Pantheists, the universe.

Jesus is not the only way to inspire those feelings.
