I already asked this but no one took it the right way. My dog (papillon) hasnt been drinking much water and barely eats for the last week. Today I took her for a walk but she was unbalanced and slow. Her legs gave out a couple times. Later on i gave her soft dog food and she ate a tiny bit but thats it. I don't know what to do cause I'm only 14 and cant take her to the vet alone. I told my parents about it when she first stopped eating and drinking but they think shes just tired and shell get over it. I dont think that though and i really want to take her in but no one will take me. Ive begged my parents but theyre not listening and said to wait till morning. I have not neglected my dog and Im not a bad owner. I just feel helpless. What can i do for my dog until I get someone to take her to the vet??? Please help.

Dont be handling her. It could be a slipped disk. When a dog is in severe pain it wont eat or drink in order to keep from moving. If there is blood in its stool it is probably parvo. Parvo effects the central nervous system. Either way the dog needs to go to a vet. Ask another family member(grandparents, uncle/aunt) to take the dog to a vet.

I'm truly sorry that your dog is having trouble and hope she is feeling better soon! Pet insurance, as with any insurance, needs to be purchased *before* something goes wrong for that sickness or accident to be fully covered -- kind of like trying to insure a house that's already on fire. Most insurance companies don't insure things after-the-fact. A local shelter might be able to help, and even if you just sign up for accident insurance at a couple of bucks a month, you'd be covered in case of any future accidents. Best wishes to you.

The dog is showings symtoms of advanced dehydration. It is effecting its motor coordination. What's causing the dog not to eat or drink can only be determined by a vet. As stated above, your dog is very sick. You need to take the dog to the vet like 4 days ago. If you have to call ASPCA in your area. And really pitch a flying B**CH at your folks to get your pup to the vet. Best of luck.

Your parents need to take the dog to the vet. It could be something simple like intestinal parasites or upper respiratory infection or it could be something worse like cancer,liver/kidney issue etc. Without knowing what is wrong with your dog there is NO way anyone on here can diagnose and tell you what to do. Your dog will need a vet

Keep trying to get them to take her in to the vet.
If that doesn't work you need to make sure that she eats and drinks (hand feeding may work) That is about the only thing you can do until you get her to the vet. Has she gone the bathroom? If yes what was that like?

Your dog is sick,hon.
I am sorry that i cannot take her to the vet for you.My parent's did the same to me & I was going to pay for it,because i had a job & my next payday was about 4 days away, but they said no.
My cat died the next day.
Sounds tome that she has internal problems like an intestonal blockage or twisted bowel. She could have swallowed something bad like dogs do sometimes when they play or chew.
If you can, take her to the vet by yourself with no money & explain that your parents won't pay for her. They just may treat her for free.
Sometimes parents don't have the money for this & they can't help it,but ppl who are unwilling to take sick pets to the doctor, should not have pets.

I don't think that anyone could really give you a proper answer but a vet. Clearly its not your fault that your parents won't take proper care of your dog.

I'm sorry for your situation. I know that you're concerned. I just hope that you can bring your parents around to helping out your dog.

It could be a few things, she should only be allowed to go a few days without eating, and she should definitly be drinking water.I can't say whats wrong with your dog,but please get it to a vet somehow, if i did'nt take mine when i did, after him being lethargic, not eating ,drinking for 6 days, he would have died, mine was diagnosed with addisons disease which if caught is treatable,he has to get a monthly injection for the rest of his life...but he is alive and well, please try to convince your parents to go to the vet,for blood work....it might be something simple. The dog is yelping, is obviously in pain....again i must stress i do not know whats wrong with yours, only a vet can tell you.Good luck to you and your dog.

I don't care how you do it but get this dog to a vet NOW.
Get a neighbor to take you to the vet take the dog in and tell them my dog needs help and my parents won't do anything.
Cry scream shout yell call the authorities, not providing vet care is abuse and your parents are accountable.

She needs immediate vet care! You tell your parents to come and take a look at what everyone is saying and that she needs to go in. She is getting very weak from no nutrition and it won't take long for her to lapse into a coma and die. She can also become so dehydrated and die quickly.

Tell your parents this is an EMERGENCY!

Why don't you ask a neighbor or one of your friends parents to take you? Call a taxi....anything!
