Here we face the greatest of all mysteries, the most significant of all secrets, the most unanswerable of all questions. How could God who is all powerful, all holy, and all loving have created evil? or premitted the devil to create it? Why did Adam have to be tempted?

He had to, he created everything. The real kick in the pants isn't that he created evil-- but that he knows all and he knew before it happened that Adam and Eve would eat that apple. And still, he created evil and watched it play out anyway, like some sick game.

Agnostic.

Isaiah 45:7
Understand that we, through the sin of Adam, now have a Godly trait: to know good from evil.
God created evil so that we would have a free will choice to make. Without good and evil being at opposite ends of the spectrum, there would be no free will.

Adam had to be tempted so that he could chose obedience, or disobedience. But good and evil pre-existed prior to Adam. The angels were also given a choice. Some remained in heaven, and Lucifer's bunch were cast down.

Evil is defines as that which results in pain, sorrow, or distress. In order to convey the correct thought in English, the very comprehensive Hebrew word ra‛ is variously translated as “bad,” “gloomy,” “ugly,” “evil,” “calamitous,” “malignant,” “ungenerous,” and “envious,” depending upon the context. (Ge 2:9; 40:7; 41:3; Ex 33:4; De 6:22; 28:35; Pr 23:6; 28:22) The Greek word ka·kos′ may be defined as that which is (1) morally evil and (2) destructive; among the ways it has been translated are: “bad,” “evil,” “hurtful,” “injurious,” “wrong.” (Ro 7:19)
Rightly, God brought evil or calamity upon Adam for his disobedience. Hence, in the Scriptures, Jehovah is referred to as the Creator of evil or calamity. (Isa 45:7; compare KJ.) His enforcing of the penalty for sin, namely, death, has proved to be an evil, or a calamity, for mankind. So, then, evil is not always synonymous with wrongdoing. Examples of evils or calamities created by Jehovah are the Flood of Noah’s day and the Ten Plagues visited upon Egypt. But these evils were not wrongs. Rather, the rightful administration of justice against wrongdoers was involved in both cases. However, at times Jehovah, in his mercy, has refrained from bringing the intended calamity or evil in execution of his righteous judgment because of the repentance on the part of those concerned. (Jon 3:10) Additionally, in having a warning given, Jehovah has undeservedly provided opportunities for the practicers of bad to change their course and thus to keep living.—Eze 33:11.

This continues to be one of the most common questions in this forum and for good reason. Fortunately God once again speaks through prophets and has revealed the answers to some of these basic questions about earth life.

Our Heavenly Father prepared this earth with conditions such that we could better grow and develop. Essentially He sent us away to school for a necessary piece of our education and growth.

To illustrate, consider that I tell my children not to fight and to serve each other. Hopefully they'll obey because they believe what I tell them, however, they will gain some insight into these principles of happiness as they experience the joy that comes from loving family relationships, and the misery that comes when people make wrong choices.

There are some short videos at the following site that can make this much clearer.

MY belief, although Adam has no role in it, is that God did indeed create that which we deem evil, but that even the most heinous acts are a part of God's plan which is for a greater good. We're like kids getting a flu shot: we think it's bad and mean and we cry a lot, but out parents and doctors know it is for the best.

Of course we also need to accept that there might not be a God at all...

No, God is only Love and Creation; Time & Space. He is. He is everything; he is the super consciousness looking down on everything. We can only begin to comprehend the idea of God.

We are because we can see we are; we can feel and think we are. Whether he created us or not, we have free will. His greatest gift is free will. Free will has been miss-used. Ill will is the evil you are looking for. We created Evil. We have the will to abolish Evil, the power.

We each have our own experiences and look at life through our own eyes. Our reality is just one piece of reality. God is numbers, numbers are everywhere; God is everywhere; or just numbers. Love is the key. We Are One.

Adam had found knowledge, he found numbers. He misused free will, and took his knowledge (numbers) and saw that maybe he could beat the laws of God; the laws of nature, the numbers. Maybe he, could be God. He mistook his greed, his evil for wisdom. Now, he needed to learn for himself the truth. God is love. God is good. Free will is his greatest gift. Yeah! ;)

From Matthew Henry Concise Commentary

Isa 45:5-10 -
There is no God beside Jehovah. There is nothing done without him. He makes peace, put here for all good; and creates evil, not the evil of sin, but the evil of punishment. He is the Author of all that is true, holy, good, or happy; and evil, error, and misery, came into the world by his permission, through the wilful apostacy of his creatures, but are restrained and overruled to his righteous purpose. This doctrine is applied, for the comfort of those that earnestly longed, yet quietly waited, for the redemption of Israel. The redemption of sinners by the Son of God, and the pouring out the Spirit, to give success to the gospel, are chiefly here intended. We must not expect salvation without righteousness; together the Lord hath created them. Let not oppressors oppose God's designs for his people. Let not the poor oppressed murmur, as if God dealt unkindly with them. Men are but earthen pots; they are broken potsherds, and are very much made so by mutual contentions. To contend with Him is as senseless as for clay to find fault with the potter. Let us turn God's promises into prayers, beseeching him that salvation may abound among us, and let us rest assured that the Judge of all the earth will do right.

Well, first of all, God did not create evil per se. If you will notice, all things in the beginning were crated perfect with no evil in it including man (Genesis 1:31). Yes God did create Satan, but Satan was not evil in the beginning. As a matter of fact, he was called "son of the morning".(Isaiah 14:12-15) Evil is born of disobedience.(Romans 5:19) Thus because God has given man and angels the right to choose whether or not to disobey Him, evil has come as a result of our and Satan's disobedience to God. God did not create disobedience (which is evil), He created beautiful perfect creatures with free will.

There are many questions that will not be answered until we die. Then we will know all.

God did not create evil.

When lucifer/evil came against God, he was cast out of Heaven and sent to the earth. He was made the lowest of all creatures. In his conning way, he tricked Adam and Eve into giving him control of the earth and everything in it. Much later, God sent Jesus to take back earth, which he did and gave it back to man. Now man has to do his part to rid the earth of lucifer/evil.

There are millions upon millions of people working day and night binding and praying against lucifer/evil. And we are winning, this is why there is so much evil in the earth. lucifer/evil is fighting us tooth and nail, trying his best to take back what he thinks belongs to him.

It's all here in the Bible:

God did not create anything nor does he exist. Here is a question that will get your noodle working: If God is Omnipotent then he should be able to create a rock so heavy that nothing can lift it. An object that not even he can lift. But if God cannot lift it is he still all powerful?
