i qualify for two medals from the army reserve, my reserve unit is defunct and im out of the army, how do i get submitted for these awards?

Once you have separated from service if you last unit did not recommend you for an award you are not authorized to obtain it. If you were put in for the award you can check with the VA and HRC in St Louis to see if there is a record of it. You can go to there web page and request a copy of your records, any awards and decorations that where not on you DD214 or NGB form will be in you 201 file or what is now the ERB. the web page for HRC is https://www.hrc.army.mil/site/index-flash.aspx.

if your unit failed to summit the correct forms and recommendations, signed by your commander you most likely can't me awarded or receive them.

Call your congressman. They like to do stuff like this, and it;s an excellent way for him to get their name in the paper. No joking here!
