As I read through some of the questions and answers here, I see people of all faiths (or none) who seem very intelligent, honest, and controlled, and then there are those who make me think, "Even if I were Christian (or whatever), I'd *still* think this guy was nuts."
Is this the case? Are there others in your own religion who you wish would just shut up or who you think "don't really get" their own religion?

Christianity is full of broken, mixed up people. Can't change that either, Jesus died for everyone.

Well, in my religion I used to be in, I knew others I thought were nuts and didn't get it. What a judge I was.
Instead, once I found out the truth about organized religion, I chose to leave instead of becoming one of those "nuts." I didn't want to influence other's free agency.

That old saying: "It takes one to know one." If you were a psychologist; How would you rate the ones who actually wrote the Bible? Many people I have met seem just a little too fanatical and nearly schizophrenic. But, that was while I was in the Psych ward. I saw the light and they turned it off for me. The meds appear to be working....thank God.(?)

Yeah, I knew this guy who claimed that God told him to have plenty of children because Jesus was coming back soon, and since they were of the age before accountability, they would be taken to Heaven.
Moron.
Generally, in my experience of Pentecostals/charismatics, they have more than their fair share of nutters. It is to be expected, when this stupid church practices the laying of hands and people falling down backwards! Every man and his dog babbles like a choking baby and calls it "tongues". Every man and his dog is endowed with some super duper "spiritual gift" and can see "visions", and can "discern" and all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff.
And of course these idiots roll around the floor laughing hysterically because they are "drunk in the spirit". What bloody morons.

religious beliefs are very close to insanity... you can't really tell them apart.
you have a kid who tells you god talk to him and people believes him, but you have a bum in the streets who says the same thing and people says he's just crazy...
