It depends on who they are. You can try things like Classmates.com if they are people you went to school with, or you could Google them if they have fairly public lives. Otherwise, you may have to pay for a search (this can be done quite inexpensively in most cases, though).

i found some of them on yahoo messenger, email groups, and the best one where i found most of my most old friends was class mates, these websites are brilliant idea.

did you tried the phone book?
