Believe that Jesus Christ, who is God, died for your sins and rose again, and you will be born again and saved forever (John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:2-4)
Baptism doesn't save. Only the already saved can be baptised, but you won't go to hell if you never get water baptised (as the theif on the cross never got water baptised but still went to heaven)

When Jesus told Nicodemus he must be born again, He answered Nicodemus' heart, not his question. Jesus told Nicodemus that being born again has nothing to do with biological birth, but is rebirth through "WATER and the SPIRIT" (John 3:3), an obvious reference to the sacrament of Baptism.
" Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of WATER and the SPIRIT he cannot enter into the kingdom of God". (John 3:5)
The disciples of Jesus walked and talked with Jesus for 3 1/2 yrs and surely knew what Jesus wanted them to do when He started His church through them.
Peter told the crowd that had gathered that day, when the Holy Spirit fell on the upper room and all that were present were filled miraculously with the Holy Spirit, that they were to repent, be baptized in water and they would receive the Holy Spirit, evidenced by speaking in a language not learned in school.
He is still filling people with His Spirit with the same evidence that they had on the day of Pentecost. This is the true way to be born again.

You have to realize first that you have rebelled against God and His laws, and ask forgiveness. Then, based on the Word, you repent, ask forgiveness, and invite Jesus into your life. You are voluntarily given Him control of your life.
Now the "worldly" you has died and you become a new creature in Christ Jesus. Your sins are forgiven and you now walk in the Spirit. In order to know how to walk in the Spirit you will have to read the Word of God. Your Spirit is now sensitive to God's Spirit, that is the Holy Spirit that has sealed you as one of God's, and you will be obedient to His Word instead of doing it your own way (which is the way of the world).
We are baptized because Jesus was baptized and we now identify with Him. It symbolizes publicly, that you have died to self (going down in the water) and arise as a new born-again believer (that's when you come up). You are starting a new spiritual life instead of the physical, carnal worldly life you were living.
Find a bible-believing Church and fellowship with other believers. You are no longer of the world (ie., belief system, ideologies, morals, etc.), but a pilgrim passing through.
Hope this helps.

Baptism does mean being born again, but before getting baptized, you must be saved. Salvation is a step where you accept Christ into ur life. And by accepting, it doesn't mean that u accept HIm, but continue living how u did before u were saved. Salvation is a process where you are changing ur life to reflect Christ, living SOLELY for HIm, and for HIm alone. For the Bible says that those who are in Christ are a new creation, meaning u are not the same as u were b4. When you are saved, you must truly give your life to God, acknowledging that He alone is God. By accepting Christ, you are saying that you have repented and that Jesus died for you and on the 3rd day. Thats the thing with a lot of ppl, Jesus did not die for evry1, but for those who accept Him. SO in short, being born-again means that u are saved, after that u should get baptized, for the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20) says that you should go and make disciples of all nations (salvation), baptizing them, teaching them the Lord's ways. I hope I answered your question, and I hope u make the decision to accept Christ into ur life. If this question was for you, and you have gotten saved, Welcome to the Body of Christ!!

In order to be "born again" you have to REPENT (or turn away from) your sins. Ask for forgiveness. Then, you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, and accept Him into your heart. He will give you a new heart, and make you a new creature. Then, you must live your life in obedience to Him, and Him only. Being baptized is good. It is an obedience to God, and it symbolizes the death and resurrection of Christ, and the death of your sins, and the resurrection of your new birth in Christ. I'll pray that you are saved! God Bless!

If you read the very next verse you would find the answer. When Jesus told Nicodemus he must be born again, Nicodemus didn't know what He meant, and asked Jesus to explain. Jesus then told Nicodemus that being born again has nothing to do with biological birth, but is rebirth through "WATER and the SPIRIT", an obvious reference to the sacrament of Baptism.
"Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?" Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of WATER and the SPIRIT he cannot enter into the kingdom of God". (John 3:3-5)

When the Jews asked the Apostles Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Peter gave the answer that is still valid today.
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

To be born again is a spiritual rebirth..God promised to give us a new heart and put in us a new spirit that would help us to follow his commands, without the Holy Spirit living in us it is IMPOSSIBLE to live a Holy life. this promise is found in Ezekiel 36:26 it is fulfilled by the atoning sacrifice of Christ, when you invite him into your heart and accept him as your Lord and Savior God gives you the new heart and new spirit he promised you and then from there it grows, and what he begins in you he will carry on until it is complete. I hope this helps you and I am leaving you with a simple prayer to say, if you mean it and truly believe, you are at that point "born again" and you start over new...First thing to do read these point and see if you agree with them..#1 you are a sinner...#2 Jesus is the son of God born of the virgin Mary #3 he was crucified under Pontus Pilate and died on the cross of Calvary #4 he rose from the dead. After you are in agreement with all of these statements and believe with your heart it is time to confess it with your mouth and ask him to be your Lord. Simply pray and believe.."Jesus I believe you are the son of the living God and I confess that I am a sinner and I need you to help me, I ask you to come into my heart and fill me with your holy spirit, to guide me and teach me the truth, help me to yield to your spirit and guide me all the rest of my days, God thank you for sending your son to die in my place , thank you for your gift of love, I accept this precious gift you have given me. In Jesus name amen."..of cousre there are many ways you can ask him ..make it personal..he will even give you the words to ask with. Be blessed my friend. Peace

Confess your sins. Admit you are a sinner. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and cleanse you. Believe in Him. Believe that he is the Son of God, born of a virgin, came to earth and lived as a man, was tortured & crucified for our sins and rose on the 3rd day and is alive today in heaven. Adhere to his commandments and teachings. Live a "Christlike life" follow His example. That is how to be born again.

If you are talking about John:3, When you truly believe the Spirit of God is joined to your spirit, and that's what makes you reborn, you now have God's Spirit in you,and that's what makes you a "child" of God.
